equating a dui to parking enforcement is a bit of a stretch momo, even for you. you and i both know the two are totally in different area codes and shouldnt be getting a comparison in this instance. youre trying to cover up the fact that leos break the law routinely because the simple fact is they can. ive been interested in law enforcement for a very long time now, since high school when i went on those many ride-alongs for my senior paper. i of course went with the sheriffs dept in my area and they were nothing but cool folks. like i said, i couldnt care less if you guys parked in front of restaurants. i couldnt care less if you parked in front of a fire hydrant. the simple fact is you dont get paid enough to put your life on the line day in and day out. if you want to take some liberties like parking in a red zone, double parking, speeding, etc and you do it safely, then god bless. ....just dont pull me over. :huglove:

Sure, some abuse their power or authority... just like some CEOs embezel... is it the majority? No. A large minority? No. Its a few. Some are pricks, what can I tell you?!?! There are pricks everywhere... its just that the majority of pricks don't kick in drug dealers doors, break up fights and may even get shot at. About violating the traffic laws... if 50% of the cops you see are violating traffic laws, you need to move, as your life is in danger because your PD is full of incompetent officers. As for the other 50% laying in wait, etc. Its their job to enforce traffic laws. A main goal of law enforcement is 'voluntary compliance'. By driving at or around the speed limit in a marked unit, the officer is 'announcing': "Please keep pace with me... don't speed". If you're dumb enough to fly by a cop... you deserve a ticket, not for speeding, but for being a complete dumbass. Rule of thumb: If you don't want to come into contact with law enforcement, don't do anything wrong or suspicious. Plain and simple. If you still have issues, then do something about it like complain to your elected officials. I agree Rick. While we're at it, I'd also like to second-guess the actions of SEAL teams in combat... I mean, WTF... I can't believe they shoot first and ask questions later! Isn't that unconstitutional?!?! What about the poor muslims fanatics... I mean, they're people too. I think you SEALs need to be more sensitive to folks when you come into contact with them, even if they may want to harm you. That show is good... BUT... its too detailed. They give up alot of tactics we use on a daily basis. Its talked about in our 'community' and use street guys aren't 100% comfortable with how revealing it can be.
Im not sure if any of you guys have experienced this in your area's, but here in the tampa area we have under cover cops driving unmarked cars such as jacked up F350's, blacked out Impala's, ford explorer's basically anything they can find. They wear regular street clothes, basically looks like anyone could just get a fake badge put a few lights in the grill and pull you over! Then there is stories on the news a LOT about people posing as police officers pulling people over and robbing them. Make sense to any of you? Well thats how they do it in Tampa.... just one of many examples of the BS they do here. and NO im not saying all cops are complete incompatant dicks. Just the ones I've delt with!
The Portland cop I could understand it was not a fire hydrant and they need to be close to there squad car but still the law is the law that one can go either way. Now the two low life scumbag NYC traffic agents should be put on a firing squad and shot. Twice. Typical lowlife NYC traffic agents. Earn your $19,000 you POS. In NYC they find the lowest form of pond scum and dirtbags and make them traffic agents.
Thats why you request a market unit with a uniformed officer to come around if they pull you over....
