Mine originally came with the new modified tube (I think? it has that flat spot on it). It still rubs in a tiny spot. The spot is about 3/8" wide and 1/2" long. You can see the spot on the hood but not on the tube. so I guess it's just barely touching? '06 Magnum.

My replacement tube showed up a little while ago and it's already on the car. No rubbing at all.

AFE stepped up and replaced it no questions asked, now that's customer sevice.:good:

I was just thinking of asking you bout this Dave. Is the AFE that much bigger than the Mopar cai in that spot that it rubs?? Mine doesn't. Did you Mopar cai rub??

A couple things you can do to get it to sit a little lower, bend the tab off the radiator that it mounts to down a little bit, and also loosen the clamp off of the throttle body and bend the intake tube down just a little bit and then tighten it back up. I did both of those things with the old-style tube and mine barely rubs as it is. I bet with the new tube that it won't rub at all.

I tried loosening the TB clamp and re-tightening while pushing down. Don't know if it worked or not... I just thought of using a magic marker on the rub spot to check that. I'll consider the tab. Would be a lot less effect since it's at the other end of the tube. Good idea though.

Ok. Maybe I am a F-Tard. Finally got around to installing my new tube. It wouldnt fit. The tube coming off the side the vent hose hooks too was too long and wouldnt go through hole in shield. Am I the only one or did I have a brain fart?

Just break out the hacksaw and cut it down about 1/2 " I had to do that on my original tube and the replacement tube.

Before you start hacksawing, are you sure you have the tube and heat shield right? It either slides through one way or the other, I had it wrong at first on install and it did seem too long. Slide it through the other way and it should be the right length.

I have not received my replacement tube yet.
