Jimi (ROZ-SRT) had posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about installing an "H" pipe in his exhaust....it really sounded great and Jimi said it reduced backfiring quite abit. I had the "H" installed on my truck Friday...It is like a different truck now as far as backfiring goes...

No loud backfires and almost no popping between gears....I get a little popping when coasting in gear but none of the loud backfires that I had before.

There was little or no change in the sound of the exhaust but I was not looking to change the sound as it sounded perfect to me before...except for the annoying backfiring....I am running no cats with Magnaflow Catback...

Thanks Jimi!! I no longer grit my teeth when shifting gears now..:dance2:

    im confused

h pipe? i am assuming you mean a small pipe that goes between the left and right exhaust pipe that lets flow between the two?

i had always been taught that you always use this h pipe because it helps with hp and tq.

o well my truck has it on the mopar performance exhaust i had installed.

Yes...you have it correct....my Magnaflow exhaust has an "X" crossover but seems the Viper engine likes the "H".....plus I run a fairly fat A/F due to the blower and cant seem to get the tuner I ordered shipped...:sly:

I dont have a picture but it is about 18" before the muffler..I have Magnaflow Catbacks.....look at your mid for areas that have more discoloring than others..that is where you want it..
