Part 1 is did I miss the announcement here?
Has anybody noticed that MSD now has high output "MSD Blaster Coils" for our cars? Plus they look real cool compared to the "old dull black".

Part 2 is did anybody catch the HorsePower TV this weekend about the spark plug shootout?
The E3 pllugs thay tested had a pretty good power increase (was it 5HP or 12HP? 5 is good but 12 is a hard to believe incredible) over the next best plug and less fuel was used. They showed a very nice long, wide hard spark.

Maybe this would be a nice combo mod.....

There are a lot of 90mm TB around, but not all have drive by wire controller, this is the problem with MSD and F.A.S.T. setup.

The coil packs have been around awhile. I haven't heard anyone say they make more HP.
The FAST 90MM is what they use on LS2's and LS7's. You have to use an adapter plate and their electronics box with it.
I looked at that over a year ago .

    I'd pass on both.

I didn't say more HP from the coils, only thay looked a lot better built than the stockers ($470 for a set they should be) and HP addition would need a Dyno test. They may well give a better combustion burn.

You forgot the E3 plugs....maybe something here.

MSD should have made them HEMI orange. Red would look good on your car.

After doing some more research I found out they have a new version of them. The 1st ones spec'd out like stock ones. The new ones are supposed to be the real deal, but only recommended for cars that have heavy mods.

Spark plugs are pretty subjective. Until a few run them and do comparisons we won't know. Give them a whirl and tell us what you think.

I probably don't have the engine mods to give these 2 a good test.

I also heard that the first generation of MSD coils for the HEMI were the same power as the stock coil packs. Does anyone know if this has been corrected yet or has anyone seen any numbers about the "increased energy"?

Ya, it was 5.6 hp gain. For the spark test you could definitely tell there was a much larger spark visually.

    Yep...
It really looked like a nice plug with a huge, hard spark and that 5.6HP gain was over the next best plug not the stockers.

Are these the new version MSD coils or still the original that are supposed to be no better than stock?
