It is completely different. The Arrington is machined billet. They are also coming out with a cast version but much cheaper than $700

There's a simple reason why this GM TB is a plug and play unit while some of the competing models are not. It's the bore extension. When going to a larger diameter throttle body, one has to be careful to not wreck the part throttle fuel mapping.

While I'm not exactly sure the diameter of a stock 6.1 TB, I'll use a 75mm size for this example. A 90mm TB has 44% more area than a 75mm TB (pi*r*squared). If the motor draws 10 grams per second air at 8% tps, 15 grams per second at 10% tps and 25 grams per second at 15% tps, you have to be very careful to make the 90mm TB flow close to those same numbers at those same throttle positions. The way GM solved the problem was extending the bore and putting a lip on TB bell mouth. This made part throttle calibration much easier and throttle modulation much smoother. Some of the competitive TBs for the Hemi market do not have this feature and require tedious tuning of the part throttle A/F ratios. By bolting up a GM TB, you basically are not having to re-invent the wheel.

Well, it appears to me that you have some connection with LMSpeed and that you are possible trying to solicite your TB here.

Sorry, but this cannot and will not be allowed. If you and/or LMSpeed would like to contact me about becoming a Supporting Vendor, that would be GREAT, but until then, I will need to ask you to not mention this product here.

If this TB or any other product the you or LMSpeed is discussed on this forum, it WILL be deleted and you and/or LMSpeed could face further consequences.

    Thank you!

the only connection i have with lmspeed is that they are the ones that made this product and put it on my car. please don't turn this into a malicious thread. i was just posting what i found and answering a lot of questions many members have. i am sure if lmspeed what to become a vendor they will.

i also don't think that treating members and potential vendors with this much "respect" is necessary. i got something done to my car that very few members have had done to their cars and want to report it to all the other hemi lovers on these forums. give me a break would you.

again this maybe some of the reasons guys don't make as many products for the hemi's as they do for about every other car out their. let's be supportive.

You may want to reread what I wrote to you both here on this thread AND in PM.

My suggestion would be to NOT take this personally as it has NOTHING to you, rather to PROTECT the interest of this forums Supporting Vendors.

The way you approached this was in solicitation form, IMO. And since I am one of the PARTNERs of this forum, my opinion counts. ;)

Now, as you can see, I have left this thread in its entirety, however, I will not hesitate to lock it down if solicitation continues.

If you have any further compaints about this, I would suggest that you take them to Private Messaging.

    Thank you.

i will not post any more results or numbers. looks like i have to wait until all the other manufacturer's throttle bodies come out in order for it to be fair "right".

have we done this enough times to all other members and potential vendors to learn our lessons yet. we roasted diablo, we poked fun at b&g, we questioned engine builders if they got numbers we couldn't believe.

I AM GOING TO SAY THIS JUST ONE LAST TIME. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A CAR THAT SO MANY PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO SEE GO FAST FOR CHEAP. KEEP ON QUESTIONING MEMBERS AND VENDORS AND SAY IT IS IN THE NAME OF PROTECTING YOURSELVES.

IT'S OK TO ASK QUESTIONS AND BE SUPPORTIVE. BUT IT IS NOT OK TO BE SHITTY AND NON-SUPPORTIVE. WHO WINS WHEN ALL WE DO IS COMPLAIN???

    I Am Truly Sorry Again

    First off, CHECK your attitude.

Secondly, READ my post and understand what I am telling.

third, this post of YOURS http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showpost.php?p=109633&postcount=15 suggests you are SOLICITING LMSpeeds product for them.

Again, we have SUPPORTING VENDORS that pay GOOD money to advertise on this Forum. If LMSpeed would like to become a Vendor here, they can email me at: [email protected] I will then forward our Supporting Vendor information.

You are getting VERY Defensive. Not sure why.

You should stop by L$1Tech one day...

Even if the posted results are proven correct, as long as the originator is NOT a forum sponsor, their results are called bullshit or deleted...

Ed, we do not filter other forums here, so you can list www.ls1tech.com in its entirety. ;)

I gave LMSpeed a pretty hard time on LX.I did so not to call BS as to their gains but more toward the claims of bolt on driveablility without codes or issues. We have now PM'd back and forth a few times and have arranged a way to prove their product one way or the other.I for one hope it does work as a bolt on but will reserve my opinion till I see it.
I just want to say here that I have no interest in bashing this vendor(supporting or not)and thats not why I got involved in the thread on LX.I just want to see this work the way they claim so we don't have another expensive part that doesn't do anything floating around.
