Jmatt, Love the product and the adjustability. Heres where I am. The car hooks like a sum bitch then 15ft later the ass comes up and I lose traction. Then I re hook and go. Well as you know once I unhook Im done. I need help. 400lb springs were in during this test. I have 300's now. I used to hook n go. No delay with the KW's. Now I hook, let go and re hook. If I didnt have 1000 hp 1/2 shafts I would have feel victim for sure. I need settings help.
I had the same experience. Thankfully, AFCO Racing is comitted to all of us. Last week I had an hour long phone call with the AFCO drag racing expert. He and I watched my 11.17 and 11.21 second runs over and over and over. He watched and listened, and I described what was happening. Here's what he came up with: I was getting tons of weight transfer, but then the rear end came back up just when I needed more hook. Solution: Increase the rebound damping - LOTS. Increasing rebound damping helps hold the rear end down and slows the rise. Settings: I raised my rear ride height about 3 revolutions from where I had been. I dialed the compression damping to full soft, and added 3 clicks of compression damping. I dialed the rebound damping to full soft, and added 25 clicks of rebound damping. Result: My quickest 60' ever, my quickest 330' ever, a 6.92 second 1/8th mile, and the world record 1/4 mile of 10.893. As strong as your car is, I'd suggest you try exactly what I did. Every power level car will need different settings, and every level of track prep will need different settings too. The next step would be to add in some more compression damping if your track is hooking well. Adding compression slows the weight shift, and effectively provides hook for a longer period of time. But try my settings first, then start adding compression damping if you still need to.
Listen to this run before the AFCO Racing analysis: You can hear my tires start to rip lose shortly after the initial hook. Now listen to the record run: Note the absense of the ripping sound. And if anything, the 2nd track was more slippery than the 1st, as it was colder and overcast.
thats just sick Matt! Im gonna follow your lead on these adjustments. Its sounded just how I felt me car running Sat. Hook,Slip,Hook. Man your car was flying bro!
LOL - Thanks!! And good luck at the track this weekend. We're all facing the same steep learning curve on dialing these in. Someone already suggested in another thread that we need to share what settings we're using and what results we're getting. Ultimately, we ought to be able to go to the track, take a run, and make some quick adjustments based on track conditions to maximize our run any given day.
Holy Jesus! That was with a 2.3 reaction time. Please come to Jersey with that beast. Pinks on July 26th Englishtown. By the way what was the 60ft. I'm guessing 1.5?
Hey matt I raised the springs and I have the black dail at 9 clciks from the softest setting. It feels good I will see how it looks at the track
Awesome. I tell everyone: Call me from the track after your first run. You can tell me your numbers and describe what happened during the run, and I'll help you dial it in.
Now that's customer service! "Instead of the 60 million you're suing for we're prepared to offer a 35 million settlement out of court with the following provisions... Um... give me a minute here '...I'd try 2 clicks more, roll into it until you feel the rear compress and then floor it.'" :thumb:
LOL - I'm assuming he's not drag racing during my typical hours. However - he, and almost everyone else can attest that yes - I will answer the phone call any time any day to try to help.
Well - I don't know about that. LMAO But if I could make enough money selling suepension to replace my income as an attorney, I'd quit my day job and be involved with racing full time. Hey....there's a thought.... Anyone want to order 2,000 sets of coilovers?
Where are the fronts? Can you imagine the adjustability of weight transfer you will have then? JMatt are you running stock front shocks?
You ain't kidding! LOL I'm runnning the stock front suspension, which is currently the best possible drag racing front suspension. Everything on the aftermarket is actually stiffer - which is the opposite of what we need. The fronts are still in development. I harrass them weekly about getting a prototype put on my car. It'll happen, I just can't guarantee when. But when it does - I'm lifting a front tire off the ground on launch if it kills me!!!
Hey Matt...with those 60's...I thought I read somewhere that you didn't spray off the line either? Man that's SICK!!! I'm looking at the whole kit but will probably be when the car is down for the winter since I'll also need the fricken BS priced halfshafts. Sorry...still sour over the pricing on them. lol.
That was a spammer who had 40 posts in 1 minute this morning, Chris. Love that one touch clean and ban button.
