Ok, I need the SD guys to chime in on this one.

I took my car in yesterday to McCune in Chula Vista because I was having real bad shuttering when I would make a slow turn, mainly when parking. I was also experiencing some other rear end problems. Basically when I would come to a complete stop the whole car would kind of jerk forward almost as if something was loose or engaging real hard in the rear end. Once I would beging to accelerate it would feel as if whatever was causing the car to jerl forward would slip/move back in place.

So I get a call yesterday from the service dept. asking me to please come back down because they cannot recreate the symptoms I was describing. So I do it and they have their "tranny tech" ride with me. He immediately tells me that it is my brakes. :suspect: I try and explain to him that I have read online about the transfer case not being filled properly and this is what was causing the shuttering. He acted as if he didn't hear me. So today I get another call asking me to come back down again to do the same damn thing. This time both the tranny tech and the brake tech ride with me. I make the car do the same thing. Of all people, the brake guy says "theres no way it's the brakes." I tell the tranny guy again about the possibility of the transfer case not being filled properly. He turns to me and says " Well, the thing is this is an AWD vehicle, which means there isn't supposed to be any fluid in the transfer case." :mouth: :dumb: He then tells me that he is just gonna have to start ripping the rear end apart to see if he can find anything. Like HELL you will !!

Needless to say, that is all I needed to hear. I will not let this guy work on my car.

SD guys, please help me find a dealership that knows how to work on the SRT8's. Thanks for reading and helping.

You need to take it to Rancho Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge on Balboa Ave. They see a good number of SRT8s and they do pretty good work in general.

McCune and Midway have the worst service in San Diego that I know of. John Hine off the 8 in Mission Valley seems to do a fair job on Moe's.

Just got another call from the service dept. They told me that since there is not a limited slip diff. there is absolutely no way the car would shutter. He told me that they checked front & rear differential fluid levels and both are fine. Then he told me that my brakes are all the way down to the sensors and this is what is causing the shuttering and hard engaging feeling when I stop and then accelerate. Then he suggested that I peform the driveline service which would only cost me $ 279.99.

I called him to tell him I was gonna pick it up. He told me that they had just drained the fluids to the transfer case and it was dark as hell. I asked him to please put it back together and he told me that the tranny guy had already gone home, and wouldn't be back until Monday. What a joke. I told him he needed to get the tranny guy back because I wanted my car. Damnit. :chair:

Let MO take care of it, if not, I've never had a problem at John Hine Dodge in Mission Valley. They've always been pretty knowledgable with our SRT's there, but I'm not sure about the Jeeps.

    Twinke Lover,

You better talk to the General Manager about that. I hate that PUCKING dealer. I've had to deal with their BS too many times. The sad thing is I did talk to a manager that was on duty one time and it was pretty much a waste of my time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PUCKING PUCKERS:guns:
