Homo, lol! You're right, I'll come clean ... actually Rick all I do is add or remove a fat chick from the back of the car, that's how I adjust baby! WOOT!! FAT CHICKS here I come, hahahhahahaaa!! :towel:
lmao! Ok, so I admitted I have a problem, now what?? Seems by biggest problem (pun INTENDED, lol) is ...!!!!!! What do you do??
you dont wanna know wat i do scott do ya? i found a great picture!! dunno if i should post here. i dont wanna steal the thread.. lol
Well go post it in the appropriately titled "Disgusting post whore" thread!! I gotta see it ... I think
Thanks Scott, Thats what I like about my V2's is it takes all of about 2 minutes to adjust them. We were NOT on Hot Rod TV last night.
Doh, no??? Will it be next week then?? I hope!! One thing bout the Konis, the fronts are simple to adj but the rears are a MAJOR PITA, I don't do it anymore cause it basically entailed pulling the shock off, compressing it down by hand and twisting it. Yea, not fun. Good thing those KWs are easy to adj! :towel: BTW, did you post on Moe's suspension thread? Don't know if I should or not, I'm one of the few that thinks differently then you guys. I will say talking to Milan I realized that I think the Chargers are much stiffer stock than the Maggies and that may be why my reaction to the coilovers is dif than yours. Just a thought.
Where did you get that impression? My understanding was that the Magnums and Chargers were set up the same and only the 300s were softer. I'm pretty sure I got that from a SRT Engineer chat a long time ago.
Dave, this is a long story but basically ever since installing the Mopar coilover kit on my car I've been trying to figure out how everyone else with a coilover kit (kw mostly) can say the ride is BETTER because I'm not getting that, not even close, ride is MUCH harsher. I've talked to numerous people about it (including Rick) and can't figure it out. Either the Mopar kit has different spring rates or something than the KWs even though the are made by KW (stamped right on them) or the Maggies are softer stock than the other LXs to start with (everyone with a Charger complains how stiff the ride is where I don't hear that from Maggie owners and I def felt the stock ride was smooth). Otherwise I can't rationalize how anyone can say the ride is better afterwards because it's for sure as hell not for me. Very, very harsh. You're stock right, cept for sways? One day maybe we can get together and compare/contrast. Thanx Rick, I just went ahead and set my tivo to record all the hot rod tv episodes, I'll find you guys in there somewhere, lol!
I've gotta tell you Scott. There's something to be said about adjustability. I can honestly say that I can make my car ride like a Cadillac or Go-Kart and anywhere in between...without the roll, thanks to the sways.
Ah, don't tell me that, the Mopars are not adjustable that way, they're (suppposed) to be the KW V1 kit so only height adjustable. Doh! Talking about my mustang earlier made me start thinking bout that too. IDK, maybe that's the prob, hmmm ...
Yes, only the Hotchkiss sways. The fact that the Mopars are made by KW really doesn't say anything. 1) only certain components might be made by KW. 2) KW makes some of the components and assembles the product. 3) (my guess) KW makes the product to Mopar's specs (which may be very different from their own). So they may have spec'd out a coilover/shock and springs and selected a manufacturer to produce it at a certain price point. It may be entirely KW components with different sping rates, valving, and fluid to Mopar specifications. It may NOT be the case that Mopar went to KW and told them to make KW1s that they could rebrand. This is pretty common with a lot of products.
That is what I was thinking talking to Rick about it but so many people are saying how stiff the stock ride is and I just can't agree with that so it lead me to thinking the LXs were maybe different. I realized most saying it were Charger owners so I was thinking maybe the Maggies were softer and the Chargers harsher and that's why we had different results. I really thought the stock ride on my car was great!! In only 5K miles I've had 2 looooooong road trips as well as been up hwy 9 at least a dozen times and it never ceased to amaze me how smooth it was on the hwy yet how well it stuck in the twisties stock!
Nope, that wasn't it either. I'm just gonna keep recording them till I find you guys. You know, there is the distinct possibility that they saw you guys on there and decided to scrap the whole show, lol!! BTW, you sure it's HOT ROD TV? They seem to do full 1/2 shows on just one thing (not a bunch of things) and that means they'd have to do a full show on the SF, you thing so??
They only taped Kenny Wayne Sheperd and his 70 something Charger. So I think the show will feature him kinda like today's featured Michael Anthony.
Yea, damn he's got some nice rides! I like Sammy's "Red Rocker" Stang too, very nice. Uh Jason, I think there's no question now! Lol!!
