I know alot of people will not like placement of gauge but it was last minute and it works well for logging...Fairly simple install overall just a pain to weld bung in with only ramps to get Jeep up in the air...But finally done...It is raining here so I am not sure if that effects a/f but I logged a couple WOT runs ..NA..(in the rain) and it seemed to be 12.4-12.7 range and just cruisin 14.6-14.8...I do have B&G Nitrous tune...I will logg more later and give a better A/F reading when I have good weather to do so....Thanks...All opinions appreciated
Damn. You took my idea and did it with the same gauge I was planning on using. Actually, I'm planning on putting mine inside the RPM gauge. The 300s don't have any EVIC info in them like yours. Good job, looks great. Thanks for testing it out!

Looks great. You got skillz if you can cut and weld a bung in the driveway under the car. If you're in closed loop mode (not WOT open loop) the engine will constantly hunt for 14.7 - it should be constantly bouncing around between 14.5 and 15.5. If you can't wait, just get going the speed limit on the highway, lock it into 5th, and floor it for just a bit. It should go fairly steady and maybe bounce a point one way or the other.
Simple...The whole plastic cover that is part of dash and wraps cluster only snaps in..I did a lil tugging by left vent till it popped loose and worked it off ...very easy,Then I used 3M double sided tape and stuck it where I wanted it...Below cluster in between steering colum and cluster is a lil rubber flap that just flips up , so you have easy acess to log via PC...Now I did tap off of power wire from under main fuse box under hood...The first big one closest to firewall...I stuck a flat head in prongs and removed the entire fuse box and unclipped bottom cover..Then useing a test light I found a 12V switched power from under a relay...Making sure it only powered when Ignition is on..I wire tapped into it and reassemled..Then I sodderd grounds together and under dash by fuse acess(just pulls open) I found a hole in the steal framing support(just right of OBD port) .There I just got a small nut and bolt and bolted my ground to it..Any info needed I would be glad to help
I did have plastic ramps for getting Jeep up a lil...I just put them under left side.I was going to braze weld bung on with clothes hanger and torch..Most exhaust shops do it anyhow...But I was scared it wouldnt last...Welding was a pain trying to make sure it is leak free and getting welder stinger around top...I checked for leaks and maybe a tiny leak by feeling with hand...Should be fine?? You think?...Anyhow its done and it wore me out lieing on back crouched under Jepp..lol...Thanks
Just checked out my log and I noticed after WOT ...I would let completely off the throttle ...That my A/F was around 22.3 while I was slowing down...Is that normal?
Nope, leaks are not fine. Even tiny ones. The sensor is very sensitive. Any outside air that leaks in could effect your readings.
OK...I will double check tomorrow or maybe just get a lil JB Weld and smooth out around bung just for insurance...Thanks
Normal. For efficiency, and to increase engine brake, HAL will shut off fuel (and maybe spark) if you completely let off the throttle and are decelerating. Actually you can sort of feel it going back on. Lock it in a gear, run up the revs to like around 5K and just lift. As you slow down, at some point, it feels like it sort of "releases". Almost like it upshifted. I think that's when HAL restores the fuel/spark. Anyway, it's all air initially so it should read 20 or above.
Just in case you remove the sensor while working on it be very careful not to get any sort of thread stuff (like the anti-seize that probably came on it) on the sensor tip itself. The metals it's made of are very sensitive to that and it can ruin it.
Perfectly normal they all do that so no need to worry just watch it at WOT and Idle for any weird A/F surges.
Okay I had to copy and switched mine to the same location yours look so damn good there I had to do it LOL. After removing that shroud around the dash you could easily put one behind the glass if you wanted to but just look how well it flows with the other guages almost looks stock you sir get a big pat on the back, thanks.
Milan, get yourself a PLX gauge. Either the DM-100 or DM-200. You can completely do your own custom gauges... (and mine :bigwink
