I just got done watching last nights episode at lunch today (tivo) and still can't stop laughing, this show is great! They just started a new season a few weeks back and every episode so far has had something in it that just made me laugh my azz off!! Then they mix in some cool cars and driving stuff and man, this has become my favorite show. So I'm new to it, I've only been watching a few months now, anyone know how old the show is? How many episodes there are? Are old ones on dvd?? What a great show, I'm even starting to like Clarkson's pompousness, lol!
I really want to send him a email that says hey buddy I got a tug boat with a big motor ( i think thats what you called my car)that wants a rematch with that m5. Other than him talking smack About srt8's I like the show and man can they drive!!
My son and I watch it every monday night. I believe the show has been around for about 6 years. Bill.
they definately have awesome cars on the show but they do everything they can to make american cars look bad. they dogged a z06 so bad against a 911 turbo, made it look like a complete blowout, and yes, the m5 vs. srt8 video
love the show, makes me laugh my ass off usually, but they are not real big fans of any american muscle.......
Completely biased towards American rides but I do like the show itself. Clarkson is an arrogant and ignorant ass though.
That show is great. Who gives a shit if they don't care for Mexican/U.S./Canadian cars....they live in Europe! I DVR every new episode!!!
I don't give a shit if they don't like them if it was done in a fair way...but it's not. I think that's part of the show though. Their bias is inherent and appeals to others. Personally, if it wasn't for the last decade...every BMW (sorry Chris) and Jaguar has looked exactly the same as the next IMO. It's only the car buff with an eye for detail that gives those cars the props they deserve. Like I said, I like the show, but don't like the shake any North American car gets because of it's origin and manufacturing/design intents. I mean, come on, what was it..an M5 vs. a 300 SRT8. FAIL! :chair:
I watch every new episode now. I like it alot. The humor, stupid stunts and challenges... Sure, they're biased towards non-American cars... so who cares?!!? However, the one guy does own a classic mustang... Nearly every country and foreigner dislikes America on some level or another.
Actually, a lot of people care. Jeremy Clarkson has received more death threats than Salmon Rushdie lol. He's not a total hater and part of it is for the dramatic effect imo. I think he actually liked Chevy's last iteration of the Corvette.
I guess I have a little different take on it than you guys, I'm not biased one way or the other (prolly cause I didn't see the SRT8 vs M5 episode). And they do actually ream other cars, not just American ones, it's funny. I actually do like their "attitudes" too as it makes for an entertaining show (Hammond disagrees with Clarkson a lot actually). Our car shows here like Autoweek are just a drawn out bore-fest that put me to sleep. Took a while to get their "British" humor and stuff still goes over my head from time to time but otherwise I love it! Clarkson tends to get reamed from time to time too but they all seem to get along and genuinely have fun. What I REALLY dig bout the show is the stupid, ridiculous challenges they do, they're totally hilarious! Making limos out of regular cars, racing tractors then having to plow a field, trying to pave a road, making a space shuttle out of a car, that stuff if pricelessly funny!! This year is no exception. Racing a bike vs. a boat vs. mass transit vs. a car, trying to sail across the English Channel in a car/boat, trying to cross Africa in regular cars, racing and destroying motor homes and Monday's show bout taking 3 regular old 1970s British cars and putting them though their paces (running across that bumpy coblestone road was friggin HILARIOUS!) was great! That's why I love this show!
this is my favorite top gear thing of all time...i die laughing at it every time i watch it... http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tp37BvVmzfY
My wife is even a fan of the show now and she could car less about anything to do with cars. It's just entertainment. Don't take it personally guys. One of my latest favs http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZcI6ZHNJcKI
Nah, never personal. I guess I need to watch more shows to truly get a better feel for the show. I do agree that a lot of the shows I've seen are laced with dramatics and it is one of the traits I find entertaining.
More time to watch more tv with a new born around?? Uh, right Milan, what have you been smokin, lol!!
