ABSOLUTELY!!!! That's the reason why the transmissions are failing now. Clutches slipping. Bad TCM . Jeff
I wouldn't go right out and say bad TCM. On the trucks it was common practice to pull map voltage with a piggy back tuner. This was causing issues with the perceived LOAD by the TCM. That caused slow shifts during WOT. Not the best time for the TCM to try and make a smooth shift. In turn many transmissions failed. Now I realise this issue is not caused by a piggy back but I do know of a Flashed PCM/TCM for a truck that failed 2 transmissions (and quick) The flashed PCM/TCM is now either in the trash or returned. Don't know for sure. There is something in the tune that is haveing a direct or indirect influance on the tcm's precieved load, telling it your not at WOT. So it makes a smooth soft shift. Causeing rev limiter problems and poor shift speed. Which in turn is burning clutches.
We are shipping PPP a trans on Wednesday. The VB r&d will be on going, but we should have an alternative to the options out currently.
lol yea. But with the Techco and the new found power it will be making, I am scared to put the DR's back on.
Your a little far away. I'll see how this goes with PPP and let you know. If all goes well N/A. Boosted is the next step.
So is this better than the Southern Hot Rod tranny and if so how? We've all had promises of this and that with very little fruit to bare.
I haven't promised anything,, just gauging intrest. Honestly,,,, we are in the R&D stage right now. So I don't know anything yet. PPP will give it a good workout. If that goes well. I will get a boosted car to test one. (shouldn't be to hard to find one)
N2O car that will be seeing track time would work too, wouldn't it? Over 700/775 would be a good test bed. hint, hint.
Hmmm i think beat you all 426 nitrou sand a blower? Don we talked a while ago about the VB let me know if I can help any more. Hemidon Hope this works out well for ya man
Cant wait to get the transmission. I have no doubt in my mind that this transmission will be one of the best on the market. We will not be holding anything back and look forward to the testing to come. I assure you that Denny and I will not start selling it till we know that it will take the abuse I will be throwing at it. We have not decided what size the n2o shot will be, but probably 200 or so. We will be sending our car to Denny after the March 14th event so they can fine tune the valve-body.
