Congrats Marc and Tamara. I'm praying for Madeline to have a good stay in the hospital and to get home with the two of you as soon as possible!!!
Talked to Tamara again tonight. She and Maddy are doing fine. They may move Maddy to another hospital in the next few days. One that is better equipped for preemies. Maddy may be there for 4 to 6 weeks.
I was in the the Dublin/Plesanton area today and would have loved to drop flowers by for the new momma but did not know what hospital she was in.....
That would have been a very nice jesture. I don't think Tamara was up to visitors today. The deliver was an emergency C-Section. We will attempt a Monday afternoon visit before we fly home on Monday evening.
4-6 weeks is what they told my neighbors, who had a premie about 2 months ago. She was home in 3 weeks.
Wow a C-section.... Yea i don't think she was up to visitors either. I sure hope all is well. My wife is a diabetic and her pregnancy was rough, so we knew that Tamara's pregnancy was going to be rough one, but never thought this was going to happen. my daughter was a few weeks early and is now a healthy 3 1/2 year old. Congrats to the new Momma and Daddy, and I hope to see the little one soon....
Just talked to Tamara. Maddy is breathing fine on her own but will still be hospitalized for 4 to 6 weeks. Looks like Tamara will be going home tomorrow. She seemed to be in pretty good spirits for what they are going thru. Cindy and I will stop by to see Tamara and Maddy this afternoon before we head home. Marc will be at work. Tamara's mother flew in to help out.
Congrats T glad you two are doing well. It always amazes me just how much win those little ones are stuffed with.
Just a quick update before I go to bed... Maddy is still breathing on her own, but had to be transferred to another hospital on Monday night because of a bowel obstruction. Basically she's over 4 days old and no first poop. So they wanted to check her out and if necessary do surgery. I was checked out on Monday night after they removed my staples. Right now Marc and I are busy going back and forth between Dublin and San Francisco to check on her and spend as much time with her as possible. Today was particularly rough as they had to do a barium enema AND run a PICC line. Neither of which are very pleasant, but the hope is that she'll pass that first poop in the next 24 hours and they can start feeding her and continue her progress. Also, they said her CBC count is low, so they're trying to find the right antibiotic to treat whatever infection she has before she starts showing symptoms and getting REALLY sick. I gotta say this little girl is BLESSED. All the odds were against her from day one but she's succeeded as much as is possible. We're just doing our best to keep it together until she can come home to stay. I'm a bit of an emotional wreck right now between the painkillers and the hormones and oh yeah, having a baby all wired up like a pincushion, so I won't feeling terribly social for a while. I'll try to keep you all posted though and I TRULY appreciate all the prayers, thoughts and gifts sent our way. :worthy: And yes, lots of premie photos and videos to come. :baby:
