That tells me the walls and the safety equipment in these cars is AMAZING now think of that...he hit that wall at probably 150-160mph...and got out and walked (well limped a little) away without anything major... most people go to the hospital if they hit a tree doing 20 hahahaha
Wow. Compare that with the hit that killed Earnhart. Between the SAFER barriers, and the COT, safety is obviously unbelieveably improved.
No, he hit that wall at 180+. WOW. I must say that those cars and barrier walls are definitely NASCARS friend.
thats what i was thinking... after listening to the vid w/ the sound actually on...you can hear them saying how its probably closer to 180.... you can hear it in their voices how they were literally pained to see the crash.... i like his quote though hahaha "That's one of the worst wrecks I've seen, for sure, in a while and I'm not excited I had to participate in it."
And the the HANS device being a requirement for all drivers... I winced when I watched that. I am a NASCAR fan, I watch every race I can, and that made me hurt. I can't stand Gordon, but his hit a couple weeks ago at Vegas wasn't pretty either.....
Ouch, hats off to the safety improvements Nascar has made. And some duct tape and the car is good as new.
