    Mike,

Can you explain tune file importing and exporting. The "Hemi custom tune instructions.doc" doesn't do it. I'm using 8r20 on a 2006 SRT8 Mag.

I saved my Original Backup to my PC. I got a file named 05030232ae.drg
I sort of got the impression that the 05030232ae part is important (calid?) and needs to be the first part of any tune file name for my car?

    Is this true?

The Original Backup file was 55KB. Is this significant?

Johan fixed something for me (you know about this) and I got a file named 05030232ae_yada_yada.drg. This file was 48KB.
I copied it on my PC to a file named 05030232ae_12_7_afr_mod.drg
I used the DSDownloader to send it to the predator and it showed up in the Custom Tune menu. Fine so far.

Then I figured I'd like to have 2 "custom" tune files. One with all my adjustments for 12.7 afr and another with all my adjustments for 12.2 afr. I did all my tweaking on the Predator and used the DSDownloader to export/send it to the PC. I saved this file with the name 05030232ae_12_2_afr.drg This file was only 6KB.

Why only 6KB? The other file is 48KB and the Original Backup 55KB.

I didn't notice the size difference at the time and used the DSDownloader to send that file to the Predator. Went to the car to install it and do some more tweaking. I expected to have the two files in the Custom Tune area. There was only 1 file in the custom tune area and it was named as the first one, 05030232ae_12_7_afr_mod.drg

I reset all parameters and installed it anyway. All my 12.2 changes were there!?

So it seems that the export and import of the 12.2 file worked but the name didn't change on the Predator and I only had a single file in the Custom Tune area.

Can you tell me whats going on?

I would like to have 2 complete tune files in my custom tune area. Both based off the CAI 91 Oct Perf file with a different set of parameter modifications.

I've spent many days tweaking these two files and I'm not exactly sure what the exact difference is from the base CAI 91 Oct file. This is because I sort of went from the base and made a bunch of changes for my 12.7 afr tune and then made a bunch of changes off of that for my 12.2 afr tune. I'd rather not re-do all that if possible.

    thanks

To load more than one tune at a time, go to the advanced tune tab of DSDL, and load up to 5 tunes, then send to tool.

Dont worry about the file sizes, there will often be differences, no biggie.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Thanks Mike.

I was thinking that maybe I only had 1 real custom tune and everything exported after that was just the difference from that "base". Thanks for clearing that up.

I got an enhancement request for future revisions maybe. Some people have more than one custom tune. They may have gone CMR for a track tune and a street tune. It's not unlikely they would make some parameter adjustments to both of the tunes. It seems that currently the parameter adjustments are a single set and "global" to the predator. It would be nice if the Predator could associate a modified parameter set with the tune it was made on.

For example you have tune A with modified parameters and you have tune B with different modified parameters. You want to switch back and forth between tune A and B and maybe still be able to easily tweak a couple of parameters or just see what changes you've made.

In my case I started with a "base" tune, made adjustments, exported it, and imported it. Then I made further changes. I plan to export this and import it with a different name. But now I've lost the information of what I changed from my "base" tune.

    just a thought.
