I was wondering how the trannys are geared in the srt8? I have m6 in the goat[3.91 gears] an dont have any real flat spots. I had the experiance of a very nice c6 vette conv yesterday for 5-6runs at highway speeds. First I was paceing him an he waved me on to go .We started at 70 an ran to 110 Dead even .I was in 4th gear not ideal but wanted to see what he had. Second run from 85 to 130ish 4th gear again same result . Third time we slowed to 65 I hit 3rd an pulled him, rapped 4th an slowed again. Forth run way to much traffic . I love the c6 but they are not geared for highway runs. Do you guys have the same experiance ? Not trying to start a kill section just wonder how you guys do at the higher speeds .:ilovesrtc:
I am working on achieving 200+mph Personally I have been just shy of 180. A select few have been to 185...
Depends if you're stock or raised your shift points. Also what tires you have. The LXs came stock with either the RSAs (28.68") or the F1s (29.03") -- only makes 2 miles an hour difference at the top of 5th gear though.
They are very similar to a stock m6 goat . The 3.91s cost me a little in each gear but I get their faster . I have thought of going to 3.08 since most of my fun is under 100 . This lets us hit 62 in 1st an lets us lunch a we bit harder. To Rons 200 quest I have hit 166 in the goat an Redlined my turbo supra[about170ish] With the gears I had . How do the mopars take to gear changes ? Has anyone changed internal gears in the tranny?
not sure if it yet possible ed????? i am sure there will be more of an expert chime in, but up until now, gear changing in the lx was not a real world option due to the computer....... experts, correct me if i am wrong.....
I would never ,well maybe never ,well not to your face at least . But I do respect your imput an views on things. Thats enough ass kissing .Good night .
I'm learning alot about these transmission's lately. I just have to figure out how to put all the pieces of the puzzle together and still make HAL happy.
I will what an see what you find . I think their is alot of possabilities in the tran an gears .In my car the gears made a huge difference . In my import days My friend built his Supra to the same specs as my engine only differece I had a built tranny an4.30 gears vs turbo standard tranny an gears 2.83 or something of that nature I cant remember the stock ratio. I would run 12 flat on a traction limited 120-125 he would run 13ish at 111. I no all engines are not the same but our dynos were within 20 hp an 15 tq. You guys will have a new world open for you when ALL the car is tuneable . I love following this kind of stuff.:drunk:
Yes, hal gets his info from the speed sensors at the wheels. That and rpm dictate gear change info. If the wheels are turning 60mph but hal thinks he's going 70. He has a fit. (makes the computer think there is a problem in the trans.) There are no speed sensors in the trans.
Actually Gentlemen the last revision of Diablo allowes for gear selection!!!!! They just announced it on another forum. Though I cannot remember which. This will allow you to change gears in the rear end and then clue the computer in on it! Gear problem solved!! I also believe there is at least one vendor working on a whole shit tone of gear options for us.
I really haven't looked but does anybody make a spool for these rear ends? I've heard of some heavy duty halfshafts but never heard of a spool
