I know that there is a wealth of knowledge on here and I am looking for some suggestions on what mods to do next. I currently have an 08 SRT8 with a stock motor. I have a Vortech System (about 7 lbs. boost), Labonte water/meth, billet fuel rails, cross-overs, 2 step colder plugs, BB stage II valve body, getrag LSD 3.06, M&H drag radials, and Corsa xtreme exhaust.

Dyno at 493 rwhp and 427 torque

This last Friday I ran the following at Famoso Raceway in California:

    60 ft: 2.084
    1/8: 8.369 @ 88.38
    1/4: 12.796 @ 113.03

I would like to get into the 11's, but I am not ready to forge the bottom end yet so that I can up the boost. What other alternatives do I have? Do I need to change the torque converter, high flow cats, etc.? Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.

With your current list, you should already be in the 11's. You need to bring your 60' down. You are spinning off the line, thus slowing your ET down.

A 2800 stall converter should be on the top of your list. This mod will net you at least .4 tenths off your time.

    Thanks Ron,

Any suggestions on which torque converter to go with? Especially one that will be good for both street and strip?

Get with Ryan over at Stack. I am sure he has some good advise?

I have been running my Suncoast TC since 08/2006 and have never had an issue.

Also, have you added a 180* t-stat yet? If not, get one.

It's my opinion that a 2800 stall is to low for such a heavy car, even with stock cam, we make peak torque around 4500-5000 RPM...for your set up i would recommend a 3200-3600 stall Pro Torque or Precision Industries brand. 113 MPH is a little low for your hp/tq numbers....should be 115+ Get your short time down, which should yield a little higher mph.

Yes, I already changed the t-stat and it seems to be working okay. I know that I definitely need some more practice to lower my 60' times, but I wanted to make sure that there was not a "weak link" in the current combination that I am running.

It seems like a torque converter will be next on my list...now just deciding which one will be best...

It's not going to help your time any, but I assume that getrag lsd 3.06 came with half shafts?

Yes, the LSD came with upgraded half-shafts. I am planning on building a motor outside of the car that will handle much more boost, but I am trying to get the most of my current set-up for now. The next step is probably going to be a converter. I just want to find one that will have good street manners.

My 3600 PI behaves great on the street...my cam in my 426 is just about like having a stock cam in a stock 370....Don't be afraid it will be to much...I actually wish I had more stall.
