Are there any Chysler/ Dodge techs out there that could help me with a question. Here is the deal, I am looking at possibly updating the Mrs ride. I have found an 04 PT cruiser in the right price range, with 42000 miles. If I remember correctly, in 04 the chryslers came with the 7/70 powertrain warrenty standard, and it is transferable. Is that correct? And if I were to furnish the VIN, can it be checked to see if the 7/70 is still intact, and would be able to be transfered to me?
the warranty stays with the car not the owner. there is no transfering it just need the vin and yes u can call any dodge/chrysler dealership give them the vin and they can tell u what warranty u have if any
Warranty can stay with the car and not the owner unless stipulated during the purchase of the car. You see this pretty often with extended warranties because it is really no longer a true warranty but an insurance plan. Also if the warranty agreement was broken at any time the warranty on the car no longer exists and you can go fly a kite. Do not get confused by whatever rumors you hear about warranties. These are businesses and they would try anything not to lose any money on the deal. When in doubt, doubt!
no im trying to find out what type hes buying we paid 11,500 for our 05 with 21K mi. since his is an 04 he should ask for no higher then 10,500 since it has 42k. now if he was looking for 06 then around 13-15k and so on. i did alot of research before we bout ours. they were trying to squeeze 12,500 out of us and we got it for 11,500
$9,995...at least that's what they are asking for it. I'm gonna try to work on 'em a little. :bigwink:
