I talked to several NAG1 owners with the paramount Stage2 valve body and found the same complaint about the harsh downshift especially 2nd to 1st. After a conversation with Eddie I went with his recommendation...... I found a stock valve body and went down to the local Mercedes Benz to pick up the Blue Top solenoids. I asked for the solenoids used on the SLR McLaren or the 2006 E55 AMG, which it turned out use the same tranny and parts. The installation was very simple and could be performed on any valve body. You simply remove the valve body and remove the bolt holding down the the brown tops. Pop them out and push the blue tops down in the same location. I would not recommend this on a mechanically modified valve body. The shifts are identical to my old AMG E55......smooth without the heavy "thunk" downshift.....and the upshifts are just as smooth and positive with no slip what so ever. This is a great mod for the money!! Thanks Eddie!! .
