As some of you may have heard or seen Keith (Owner of GBF) and myself (I work there too) started a little project on making an upgraded lug nut for the LX/LC platform. Well guess what was delivered to the office today. That's right the official OEM Standard Upgraded Lug Nuts are in. Please take a look at this... This was taken with a Cell Camera and it doesn't do the Lugs any justice but I wanted to show everyone. These will never tarnish, chip, fade, crack, or break. They were made out of Aerospace 17-4 Stainless Steel, Heat Treated, Electro Polished, Passivated, and prepped. Let me know your thoughts, Jay
I'm thinking you should put a stock nut next to it. I've forgotten what the stock lug looks like
I can't see the pics at work, but it sounds good. If you can, bring one with you tonight if you're headed to Beach Burger. I'd like to take a look at them.
They look very nice Jay. What kind of cost are we talking here? Dave, go out and LOOK at one of yours. lol
haha, Those look good. I'm interested in the price as well. Would be nice to get a matching set of locking nuts too, maybe? Ah, who knows..
x2... some of us can't do that...:thongue2: Oh yeah, those lug nuts look great...any chance that they would fit on a Neon or PT Cruiser?
Thanks guys for the props... We are working on the locks soon... Just trying to get these down pack first... Second batch is coming out Monday... Far as price we have not came up with a figure just yet...
very nice jay..... i know the stock ones are pieces of shit!!! i changed over to gorilla lugs because the stock ones rounded off from too much tire changing!! lol
I got the full set of Gorilla Acorn locking lugs. ...almost 3 years ago... They're not as pretty as Jay's though.
Day late.. $ Short ( A Hundred + ) Had my car in the shop on Thrusday, getting 9K service & track insp. for my weekend at Willow Springs & found out the tire guy (the week before) use a 22mm on my factory 21mm or something close to that (left me 10 bad lug nuts - you get the picture)..so at the last minute on the spot I was able to get 20 factory lugs for $130ish. Car is done, passed Tech. & looks like iGo Hot Lapping at 8 am. I beat the good stuff cost as much as factory if not less.. I they say ...if I didn't have bad luck ....I would not have any luck at all.. I want to give props to the Parts Guy at South Bay Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & one young tech who took time to talk to me. Tire (NT 05) and Brakes (The Brake Man #93's) do your job & car forgive for the fun I'm about to have.
I had the pleasure to check one of these out tonight at Beach Burger. They are truly high quality, expertly machined beauties.
Thanks Adam, far as all the questions about cost and colors... I will have to let everyone know on Monday when the firs shipment comes back from processing. I do understand that some would like them in black and other colors. So all information will be gathered and posted. Thanks guys...
I want/need some! How long before we can order? I know 2-3 people that will buy a set like NOW as well.
