how many members are enlisted for any branch of the U.S Military. reson i as, is the wife has joined the air force and i would like some first hand insight on your thoughts of being in.
U.S. Navy... 22 years... retire April 08... Loved it for the most part, but as you know, everything has it's pros and cons. SPECWAR was probably one of the best stations I was at. Saw the world MANY times over.
what field did you wife go into there are many choices in the AF and importantly they live the best out of all the other branches ive stayed in living quarters from every branch and the air force live the best by far.
whats great is the military will pick up the tab for all you medical and dental, pay for your housing since your married and have kids, she will get paid more for having dependents, being you and your kids
well she is going into a dental/medical feild. she has yet to take meps and avasb . she will then go to san antonio for her bmt
good :thumb: I hope she does well she took a big step in taking care of her family by enlisting. she will be away from home for a few months and you will probally have to move to where she will be stationed at. but it will all work out in the end
yeah its gonna be hard the first few months, but after she gets her orders and gets stationed it will all start to work out for the better. if my body wasnt so beat up i would have enlisted next to her
Yep, and with the cost of living these days that helps out quite a bit. Have you priced life insurance lately! Lol!
there are many people here is this country who would sign up but cant those are the ones who really love and respect this country I know a few who feel the same way
from what i understand is that they pay housing, food, all utilities, plus her check. she will enter as an e3 so the pay will be a little better starting out. i am just happy to have the medical for my little girl. and it will nice the get the hell out of new mexico
I feel ya Brudda! It kills me to see some of the good people they kick out for whatever reason and keep some of the slugs on duty who could care less.
true. i love my country but i have a few medical conditions that prohibit me from joining. technically i should be disabled, but i couldnt sit around all day doing nothing. so i choose to hurt and work lol
Im 80% disabled and i too chose to work as well i cant sit at home either + 2 pay check dont hurt
That definitely sucks, but at least she will cover the family which makes it all good. A lot of people don't think about it, but the family members left at home for the six, eight months, one year, etc, deployments, sometimes have it as bad if not worse having to handle everything by themselves while their other halves are away.
