While the subject of trannies is a popular one has anyone heard about other trannie mods besides the torque converters. Anyone tried the GSM TCM mod??
I had thought about it and heard that it works but you need a Star Scan to program the new TCM module to the car.
I have not tried it, but I understand it is the real thing. Not sure how it will work with the predator. Might want to ask GSM. C.
I've been considering getting this mod for awhile now. Someone help me crack my piggy bank to the toll of about (6) Ben Franklins...
I've had the GSM TCM Stage II for about a year and a half. One of the best mods I could have done at the time. Firm and crisp shifts, no hesitation, no more falling on the face between shifts.... And works extrememly well with the 3,000 stall Converter.
Ron, I've read a bit about the "tranny nanny" and wonder how your GSM Stage II cured it...as if your car "falls on it's face" during shifts I STILL go through first so fast followed by an immediate shift to second and BLAAaaaa...dog city. The 2800 TC really did help as I am learning to feather slightly in first and maybe I can keep a spin into second but the car fights this so bad. I'll be at GSM soon and wonder if the TCM is my cure. Any thoughts bud?
what really gets rid of that lag is totally disabling the TM with a CMR tune......my car shifts like its got an old B&M prepped TH400.
Good to know. This is my largest problem performance wise. Besides no traction. I have been looking for some good tranny helpers for a while. What is Renntechs web site Hemi31?? Also what tranny system are you running now Ron?? When I rode in your car I loved the way she shifted. It was great.
I remember someone (at Diablosport I think) saying do NOT totally remove TM or the only 'bang' you'll be hearing is your tranny parts on the ground during some random shift. Just recalling a single thread though... What exactly is the car doing here during the 1-2 shift and what triggers the bog? Pulling timing/fuel? Sometimes the car does not appear to anticipate the shift at all and I get a good solid shift that I can easily ease in to 2nd gear spin. That's what I want all of the time!
