Hi guys. I have 20K on my '07 Jeep SRT8 and it's time for new rubber. The Nitto 420s can be had at a good price from Discount ($910). Are these good tires? This car is my daily driver and I live in Michigan so need decent snow/ice wet tires. I'm also tired of the rear brake squeel. Every time I'm braking in the condo area where I live the old folks start running with trash to the curb as the Jeep sounds louder braking than the local garbage truck. I have had it in twice for brake service and I'm not sure if my dealer has any idea how to make this go away. Thanks, Craig '07 SRT8 Jeep '08 Corvette Coupe

Well I have posted this on other forum site as well for peoples information. If your mechanic / dealer can't fix the rear brake noise problem find a new mechanic/ dealer. Most of the time the break squel is due to putting ceramic pads on the rear. I learned this by putting EBC (red Stuff) ceramic pads on all four, My rear's squelled so bad I know your feeling about the noise and feeling shy about even driving because of the noise. The fix that worked for me was putting non- cermaic pads on the rear, I kept the cermaic on the front and the only time they make noise is when it's cold and only for a few min's until they warm up or search for some pads you like. We are still in the process of adding more parts for the Jeep SRT8, but I had to get the rear pads on there with a good price for those people having problems. As for tires I still have the Goodyear Runflats and about to change mine out, but I'll probably go back stock due to no spare tire and I drive cross country. Plus I have gotten alot of miles out of mine. The Nitto look nice but I have not seem how the ride is on those. I hope this helps a little
Actually you dont have to move away from ceramic pads I have posted in detail that the 2006 CTS-V pads from Brembo do not squeel, using the metal shims as well. I used the blue extra strength permatex lube on the backside of the pad and used the silver antiseize on the shims problem solved. I got mine from GM direct or you can order them from tire rack using make/model for 06 Cadillac CTS-V pads which those are made by Akebono.
It's nice to hear someone is running ceramics on the rear and not having problems. Maybe it was just The EBC's I was using on the rear which happen to be ceramics. I have no idea what brand other people are running on the rear and having problems.
