Heh, I agreed with most everything:grin:. Just wanted to get the "short shift" thing clarified. That was a huge debacle back then with tremendous amounts of bad information, people betting their houses, feeling their honor was being questioned:rofl:, thousands of debate posts... It's a close call with the shift when keeping the motor wound up in the twisties. I like to do that as well and thought about that. It wouldn't be a problem if running into the rev limiter was a smooth event. Like if it could sort of cycle by cutting throttle gradually and reapplying it gradually to keep you at the rev limit. But it doesn't. It flat closes the throttle. It might even be better if it threw you into neutral when it did it. I was thinking about the scenario where you're in a sweeper on the edge where you're just barely drifting... if you hit the rev limiter it could be bad. at best you're going to be really busy in a hurry. I don't think upshifting at that point would be so dramatic. Just my personal preference.
That last bit is what I was concerned about bro. There's a number of great high speed sweepers going up Skyline towards Half Moon Bay and I don't want to have to worry about what the tranny's gonna do, only what the suspension's gonna do, lol! This way I know, I get near the limiter and I know what will happen. Other way I'm always wondering if the tranny is gonna kick up a gear and drop my power on it's own. :thongue2:
