Just some exterior pics taken today. Only thing new is the modified tail lights I custom made with LEDs and the custom LED 3rd brake light I did as well. The tail lights came out good, only thing I don't like is the fact you can see the bead of silicone on the bottom inside the tail lights. Other then that I think they came out great. Both the tail lights and 3rd brake light are plug-n-play.

    Thanks!

:crying: about the silicone. What happened was I sealed the tail lights once and then I had to pry them apart. Well I couldn't resuse the sealant that already was on them. Water was getting in the tail light. So I applied a bead of silicone all the way around. The bottom wall must be smaller/thinner then the rest of the tail light because I applied the same amount all the way around and the bottom is the only on that pushed out like that.

Thanks Chase! Appreciate the kind words! As for the silicone, if I force myself to I will have to pry the tail lights open again, shave off all the silicone and re-do it again. Might end up taking off the paint so I may have to repaint them again as well. Not looking forward to it but looks like its the only thing to do. I maye go with black RTV next time around since its less visible.

    Thanks everyone!

Well looks like when I get home from work I'm going to try to pry one open, remove all silicone via Dremel and re-seal them with a lighter bead of silicone or maybe black rtv. If time allows I'll do the other one if not tomorrow. If all goes well I will have new pics.

I about broke down in tears literally...

    THE BAD NEWS....

So I took off the passenger side tail light, did the whole oven thing yaddie yay. Went to pry the tail lights open. It was breaking lose and I wasn't putting much force and then it happen CRACK, a piece off the corner breaks off. Now I'm sad and proceed to pry it open. CRACK right down through the center. Then it broke into 3 pieces so already ruined I pryed them open.

Where I tried to pry it open is where I've opened it before so it should have went smoothly but this would have been the 3rd time prying them open so I guess they had enough.

    THE GOOD NEWS...

In a sadden state I started looking for spare aftermarket tail lights. Didn't matter what kind just need the clear lens from them. I found a set about 2 hrs or so away from where I live. I just got done contacting the seller and I just paid for them. He will be shipping them UPS tomorrow so I should have them in a day or two.

Now I will have to re-touch these tail lights and hope I can transfer the lens over with no damage and with NO SILICONE MESS!

    Haha yes sir!

I finished cleaning off all the silicone and gunk yesterday. Took the tail lights completely apart. Going to repaint them today when I get off of work.

If all goes well a new thread will be up titled "Lets try this again..." lol.

HAHA good luck with the new tails Jesus .. I love the mod! Don't let those tails get the best of you!!

Oh, since the passenger side cracked, once the new tails are done and installed .. you have to beat the shit out of the driver side tail with a hammer .. its a written rule somewhere ...

Thanks man! Yeah after all the time and money spent on making them I can't give up. Not to mention the headaches just trying to get them to work like I wanted them to and figuring things out.

I was going to keep the other lens as a spare. Might just break it for the fun of it though lol. I should have when I cracked the passenger side one.

Thanks! They will be back :).

Yeah it does. I was disappointed at myself. Instead of thinking negative though I went right to the computer and started looking for another set with clear lens.

Found a set so now its repainting these, putting everything inside back together, using minimal amount of sealant and take the other lenses off the other tail lights I bought and put them on these.

The other tail lights are a different style so I might paint them and try putting leds in them as well but then I'm looking for clear lenses for them haha.
