any one thought of putting much smaller brakes that would let us use 15 inch rims so we could use real slicks? Sorry if this sounds stupied but I really want slicks
You just want to break something don't you....LOL...I have seen others talk about doing this, but I have yet to see anyone attempt it. I really don't see a reason to go to a full slick especially with guys pulling 1.6's and even PPP going 1.5's with the soft compound DRs. That IMO is very impressive for such a heavy car.
You can do it, but it will be costly in many ways. First cost will be in the conversion.. Keep in mind, we have these big ass brakes for a reason, to STOP this anchor quickly. If you go a smaller brake kit, your stopping abilities will SUCK!!! Safety first, then go faster...
hey leave my crappy nittos alone!!! Just becuase I drove to la on drag radials and u had to trailer urs down. I still remmber u calling me crazy for that one. But matt my guy got the suspension in stalled and will get some numbers tom. Ron I understand safty first but what knda brakes do drag cars use when they use slicks? I am just trying to think out side the box here. Thanks for all your responses.
I know this, but Drag cars do not drive on the streets. And yes, the back brakes are 40% of your stopping ability.
