First off ... I HAVE NO PICS!! Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry! I know this thread is worthless without pics and I'm sorry, I don't have any. I went last Sat and I got half way to SF and realized I'd forgotten my cell but wasn't about to turn around to get it so sorry everyone, no pics.

I wasn't even gonna start this thread because I knew all the razzing I'd get but I've been thinking about all the cool cars I saw that will be coming out and wanted to see what you guys think. That being said I'll move on for those who care.

I've been going to the SF Auto Show for as long as I can remember. It's usually pretty darn good having some cool concepts and the newest models. However the last bunch of years have sucked pretty badly, nothing cool at all. This year was a PLEASANT surprise. I was shocked by the cars that were there, actually really shocked, I still can't believe what I saw. Here's the rundown in no particular order ...

    The new Nissan GT-R
    The new Audi R8
    The new Lexus IS-F
    The new Jaguar XF
    The new Camaro
    The new BMW 1 series
    The new Subaru WRX STi
    The new Evo X
    The new VW R32
    The new Mini Clubman

    Also cool were ...
    Porsche GT3
    Ferrari 599 GTB
    Lambos,
    Bentlys
    Z06
    GT500
    and many others.

What got me was seeing those of the first group above, all brand new models that most of the car mags don't even have in them yet (and if they do they're the right hand drive Euro models)! I was blown away to see the GT-R and the R8, those two cars are serious. The GT-R was probably my fav from the show, I still can't stop thinking about it. It was BAD A$$ guys!!

So any of you seen any of these cars at shows or on the streets? Oh, btw, the Dodge/Chrysler display was pathetic, really lame. I would have loved to have seen the Challenger and with the new Camaro there it would have been appropriate but no. They didn't even have an SRT8! A lowly SXT Mag, an R/T Charger with the Road and Track package to make it look like an SRT and a 300 called SRT Design. Anyone ever seen this abomination?!?! I don't understand it at all. Seems to me to be just about everything the SRTs are but the motor, it's a 5.7. STUPID!! IMO Dodge blew the show big time.

    Anyways, any thoughts guys??

That sounds like an awesome show.

As to the Dodge comment, what would you expect? This is the same company that reportedly was approached by the producers of "Transformers" (the NEW movie) and declined to have their vehicles featured in the film (like the new Camaro was). How much press would that have given the SRT8 lineup?!?!

The same company, knowing that the new Camaro will have 500+ hp engine, and the GT500 the same, decides to throw in a 425 hp 6.1L into their new flagship Challenger... a direct competitor to the GT500 and Camaro.

They have served us well with our SRT8s (as they were the only REAL modern muscle cars when introduced), but the stakes have risen with Ford and GM bringing the heat back.

    In the end: fools.

I suppose we have Cerebus to thank for this, idiots. I can't believe they turned down putting the Chally in Transformers, the Camaro was my favorite part!!!!

I think I've seen all of them even the IS-F... can we say.. too damn many car shows...

Funny though, the IS-F was in a lobby at SEMA the day before the show..but the rest of the show I couldn't find it anywhere...

Yea Tamara, I'm sure you've seen em all!! That thread on all the stuff you've done in 07 is amazing. That's like 5 years of my life!! I remember when I used to have all that free time too ... UNTIL I HAD KIDS!! LOL!! Not kidding dear, I hoped you enjoyed all that car stuff cause you're gonna be hard pressed to find time over the next few years, lol! Or actually your priorities will change and your free time will be spent doing other things ... like going to the park, zoo, or beach! It is amazing being a parent though, and fun! Congrats again. :beerchug:

It's just for the first few years cause it's sooo hard to do stuff with a baby. When they get older, like my son now who's 6, it's a lot funner. Took him the races at Laguna Seca in Oct and had a blast, he had a great time! Took him to the SF auto show and again he had a great time. Best part is so did I and that's what it's all about, having fun TOGETHER!!

Get this, the Z06 was OPEN to get in!! Amazing. There's one of the baddest azz rides on the planet, a 75 thousand dollar Corvette open to get in and right down the way in the Kia display is the 25 thousand dollar Sedona minivan up on a pedastal roped off!! What the?!?! The GT500 was roped off too but was cool to look at. One thing that struck me that I haven't noticed before is how high they sit. You can stick a basketball between the fender and wheel! You noticed that??

I did notice that on the GT500...when i saw it at the NY international auto show that is one of the things that looked odd to me...still a bad ass car though...

I was at a benz dealership helping my parents decide on a car and they let me behind the ropes to get into the SLR ...not my kind of car...but defiantly cool to sit in a $450,000+ car hahaha

Oh yea! Last year they had an SLR at the show and it was sweet! They also had a cool display of just the engine on a stand next to it, very cool. Did you see Redline? Stupid movie but hot cars and hot chick, worth it for that, check it out, there's an SLR in it ... and boobs! Only they're :censored:, doh!
