Well I decided yesterday that with the new Toyo's and some slight vibration between 60-70mph that it was time to have them balanced right. So I made a few call around town to NTB, Discount Tire, etc... Oddly enough some of the guys I talked to had no idea what road force balancing is much less the brand Hunter. So googleing Road Force Balance I came across Hunters website for their GSP9700 Road Force Balance machine and walah a link to "LOCATE A GSP9700" click on that and enter your info and I was able to find one at my local Nissan dealership and booked an appointment for this Saturday. Not only do that have the GSP9700 they have the new StraightTrak LFM which is the exclusive Road Force Measurement System that applies up to 1400 pounds (635 kg) against the tire. The loaded roller detects non-balance, radial force related vibrations caused by eccentricity and constructional variation of the tire and wheel. Unlike non-contact measurement, the roller samples the entire footprint of the tire including the sidewall’s contribution to ride quality. So I am having both done just to make sure :future:LOCATE YOUR ROAD FORCE BALANCING LOCATION HERE: http://www.gsp9700.com/pub/search/findgsp9700.cfm
Yo Wade man, make sure you inform them that the Road force is exactly what you are looking for. As it is another step for the balancer to do, and a lot of them wont even do it. Also with big wheels it is harder to get the road force perfect. 20's are pretty easy, but anything bigger takes some time to get perfect, as they have to continue to rotate the tire on the wheel to get it perfect. If you are going to be there to watch make sure all the road forces are under 20 on all 4 corners and you should be good to
Hey thanks Dustin I went by there earlier so they could see what they were dealing with and to make sure they do not use an impact gun on my lugs. It's all new stuff and talked to the tech who will be there Saturday will add this to my notes for him, appreciate it.
Yeah here in good ol Central Texas you'll find more tractor tire shops than good / hi-tech car and truck tire shops-LOL I cant wait because it really sucks between 60-70
Discout tire here is San Antonio has something similar to what you are describing. I put larger A/T tires on my F350 and had bad vibes at above 60mph, they put rim and tire on a machine that applied pressure and the problem was solved. Wade- what are they charging per wheel to balance ?
Just got your message. Glad you got that beast riding smooth. I am LOVIN the nitrous man. Shoulda done it a long time ago:woot:
Well unfortunately they took the the weights off first then did the road force so I have no way of knowing if it was off or not or how much on a side note I still get a horrible vibration somewhere when I first get in to drive so I'm thinking its something else??? Oddly enough it goes away after the Jeep has warmed up
