California will have a new "fee" on new so called Gas Guzzlers ie: Vipers, Hummers and so on. Up to $2500.00 dollars tacked on to cost of vehicle for anyone above the poverty level. Those below are exempt, and from what I understand the poor get some of this money. I'm all for helping the poor! but being forced to smacks of communisium doesn't it?

Communism indeed. I'm all for helping the poor too, so long as they work full time, don't have 2000 kids, are drug free... and 99% of the 'help' comes from private organizations and not my paycheck.

I think the first one $2100.00 is technically a luxury tax. this will be an additional $2500.00 literal gas guzzler tax added on top of that by the sound of it?

yes, theyre bumping it up. its all because barb boxer and the rest of the dumbass liberals in this state are trying to get all cars at 30+mpg.

it seems the poor dont get enough money from unemployment, welfare, free healthcare, etc.

I paid a 1200 dollar gas guzzler tax days before the enacted an increase to 2100 dollars for Charger SRT8's in Ontario. And guess what? You guys will all be getting some form of emissions testing. Probably sooner than later....it's all this 'green'

it pisses me off thats for sure, but at the same time, hybrids are getting ballsier and ballsier every year. the new lexus is pushing 400 with their new engine, all the time getting 30+ mpg.

The current $2100 gas guzzler tax is a Federal one. Sounds like California wants one of their own. So $4600 to own a big V8. :chair: I've lived here all my life but sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. :drugs:
