ok guys we all know the classic clunk in the front suspension..but i have a loud clank coming from my right front..now, i was looking in to it, and was wondering if the rotor is suppose to be loose when i take of the wheel?? i can press the pads back and the rotor moves freely..as in if i was to remove the caliper, it would fall right off! i tried moving the other three and they dont move at all! so i was thinking that clunk noise might be the loose rotor??oh yeah and i think it does quite down when ii press the brakes so thats why im thing it has something to do with either rotor or caliper i dont know??:please:

The rotors will be loose (once the calipers are depressed) as the the rotors not a part of the hub. The other three being snug is probably due to rust.

Check all of your bolts on the struts, end links, caliper, etc...

Also check all your bushings. See if there is any sort of play at the bushing joints...

I had a clunk too. Turns out it was a blown strut which my dealer replaced under factory warranty for free. Mine was covered in fluid. Check that too while you're under the car.
