i have a radio project i am trying to get off the ground with this custom paging software and about 20 different restaurant style pagers. i need to know what my max range is under the 467.750MHz freq. how far i can distance the receiver from the repeater, etc, etc. can i add range with a longer bnc cable that is connected to the antenna? i know this isnt your usual thing....i just thought id ask a feller smarter than myself for some help. :blush:
i have our soft dev team working on a type of paging system to use with these long range Motorola type transmitters and receivers. im throwing them up around all our buildings in the area as a emergency preparedness measure. such as when an earthquake hits, i can send out a page to all site supervisors that will alert them to which area to assemble, what to do, etc, etc. alameda county and all bay area counties are going nuts right now setting up these disaster countermeasures.
Well that's easy then. Just tell one of the lead engineers that you'd like him to prepare a little chalk talk on the basic requirements so the team has a big picture view of the project...

crap, I guess I edited out my post... I think this rev does something like auto merge posts if you reply to more than one on a thread? I posted the first reply. Then I posted the second reply. The second reply looked like it included the first reply at the top so I edited the post and deleted the top part. Well, apparently it merge the first and second reply posts into one and I edited that one.... where the hell is that Mains guy?
