havok - sorry to be getting this thread so late....... i would like to offer up my assistance from a professional aspect though. as my screen name says, i make legs for a living. no, i would rather not have to do that right now for you little guy, but i also do a great deal more. the company i work for is the largest in the country that deals with prosthetic and orthotic needs. if your doctors want to send joesph to a specialist for any kind of bracing, call me!!!! my company has offices in NP Richey and the clinician there is a very good friend!!! hell, i trained his technician, so he owes me!!! hahahaha anyway, if/when the doctors want to send joesph to get some bracing, let me know and i will get you set up!!!! more than likely it will be a custom device and will be made in my lab!!!

trust me, i hope to NEVER have to lend my expertise to any members, but if needed, i will take care of anyone!!! i talked to my wife, who is also a very experienced clinician in the orthotic and prosthetic field (she fits what i make!!!), and she thought the best thing for joesph was something that had total contact pressure, even without standing on it, to make sure the blood flows enough to stimulate complete healing. she saw the picture and said the wound looked very good and that the coloring was excellent for blood flow. pink and red are good, purple and dark colors not good. anyway, if there is anything you might need, or if the doctors start talking about bracing or similar, i can hook you up with whatever you need!!! the company i work for is HANGER P&O....... just let me know and good luck!!!
The first mention of it and I'm calling you. He's had the cast off for 3 days now, and each day he's walking better. I think the muscles in that leg are what's off. He has not used that leg in over 2 months. Joey said, "Daddy the first boot (cast) that the doctor gave me made that boo boo go away, and the second boot is gonna help Jo Jo run really fast". Thats what we told him so that he wouldn't be scared. He's getting better quickly. :yes:
