Forgive my ignorance on this issue, but the Mopar Performance TCM can be used in the 6.1's right? I remember reading somewhere that there were disadvantages to this unit and waiting for DiabloSport to release there TCM tuning was smart... Anyone else read anything on it's applicability for the SRT8? Or do they now make one specifically for the SRT8?
They don't make one for the SRT8. The 5.7 version can be used, but there is some flashing that needs to be done. Check over on lxforums. There are a few Star-scan wizards over there. I remember RobAGD talking about it at the spring festival.
HHP sells a performance TCM for the SRT. As I understand it is a performance version from the Mercedes AMG.
I would wait a little while to see how well DiabloSport ends up cracking the TCM with the Predator. Every new release seems to have some changes in shifting patterns.
We have the mopar tcm in 2 seperate SRT8s. You dont need a starscan, but it does take a little massaging to work. We use it in conjunction with the Predator. One of the cars using it is the second fastest all motor car in the country. We havent tried it on our car yet.
what do you mean by "massaging" andy????? one of my biggest complaints is the tcm and the shift and throttle behavior of our cars!!!
i am curious about this too. I want better shifting and throttle but do not want the hastle of hacking something in.
Idle is so much smoother. And the power is more even now. I feel it's faster but a trip to the track will tell..
