OK. Most of us non-rich-New-Mexico-livin-car-trailerin' SRT owners are always looking for the best price on mods, right?!?! Here's the Momo solution: A section within the vendor section, where members, including myself, can post 'wanted' items, and vendors either openly respond or PM their prices, instead of us members calling, PM'ing, etc. every known vendor for a quote? This COULD spark some competition and thus, lower prices (supply and demand). I know, I know... but I'm not quite a genius. But thanks anyway.
i see the point that jason is trying to make, unfortunately the market is such at this point, that the suppliers are far out numbers by the customers leading to a lack of competitive environment for the suppliers........ not enough stuff out for our cars yet...... give it time and things will change, but for now, the lx world is just stuck with what small amount of aftermarket items it can get.... times will change.....they already have tremendously over the past couple of years..... gone are the days where people will spend 200 bucks on a fan mod......
If you think you LX guys have it tough to buy parts, try buying anything for the SRT-6! $900-1200 for a S/C pulley. $1000-1500 for a tune that might get you 20 to the wheels. But I like the idea you had.
Caution should be used when purchasing parts from a vendor that only has low prices to offer. Low prices on the front end wind up costing more on the back end. Here at, SOUTHERN HOTROD, LLC., we build relationships with our customers. Our customers can always get in touch with us. Try that with some of the other vendors. We actually know the parts that our customers order, and how new parts affect a vehicle. We don’t just “take ordersâ€. Do we support you all the way through your vehicle performance journey? YES! Give us a call and find out!
In agreement with Southern Hot Rod. We also build relationships with our customers, and our customer service should speak for us. We are not here to make the quick buck, you do not see us spamming the forums with new sales threads. We try to bring high quality components to the general public at lower than wholesale pricing. Our business has opened the eyes of Chrysler, and because of this they are even directing other dealerships to follow suite. I do not think we should have to create a pricing war between vendors on the forum. We all have our advantages and disadvantages on what we do in comparison to the other vendors. Now if we were to create a pricing war, and we are forced to lower our pricing then how could we afford to sponsor or support forums such as this or even events. I am constantly being asked to send free stuff for raffles, give-aways, or asked for money to sponsor an overwhelming number of small car club shows (meet & greets) as well as large events. It is either this or the numerous requests to provide full/partial sponsorships on vehicles asking for free products. Now don't get me wrong here, I think these are very positive avenues to build awareness of our business, but we need to be profitable in order to do these. I say no, this will create pricing wars that could or will have a negative impact on the vendors. I believe that we all here are quite capable at providing a very fair pricing structure for our customers. Now this does not mean that we would not match a competitor, these are done on a case by case basis. There are something that we just cannot match for whatever the reason, and we will be more than happy to advise the customer to go to the other vendor.
I hope you aren't insinuating that I don't attempt to build lasting relationships with my customers or that I'm out to make a quick buck--seeing that my pricing is already low as hell. In fact, I challenge you to find one customer that's not just unsatisfied, but someone that wasn't completely satisfied with their experience with MHP. I'll save you the time, it simply isn't going to happen. The reason I'm in this business is because I'm sick of all the aftermarket companies that overprice, don't deliver, make excuses, sell subpar products, etc. etc. I sell only quality tested products, most of which I use or have used on my own vehicles. Anyone can call me 24/7 (I'm up 20hrs a day) for solid tech support, parts selection advice and more. My installers/tuners are overly qualified, certified, can fabricate custom turbo kits, intake manifolds, and even authored the SCT/Diablo tuning manuals. My engine builder holds more world/national records than anyone else I'm aware of--you can bet your ass that my H/C package will trap more than 112 in an LX. I'm a full service business that 100% stands behind my work/products and I'll educate anyone, potential customer or not on the best path to take based on their performance goals.
My post was not directed specifically at you, but . . . If the shoe fits . . . Do you realize that just about every post of yours is bashing someone else? And it makes you look like an ass. What head and cam package do you sell? Also . . . What is you background in this field? Just checking.
