...a catch can setup? Is someone selling these as a complete kit? I tried search but could not find a conclusive answer...or maybe im a moron!
I would say the Catch can is a great buy. Not a necessity, but it definitely captures excess oil. Billet Technology has them at a GREAT price and quality.
go to billet tech and get theirs....... many colors to choose from and the quality it second to none!! get a bt and be done with it, you will not regret it!!!
Necessary if you wanna keep excess oil from re-entering your combustion air. It will keep oil from sludging up your intake, putting excess carbon on your valves, introducing excess hydrocarbons into the exhaust, saves your catalytic converters and the environment. I got mine from BT...kit includes everything you need and the install is a breeze. I've found that cleaning mine out after every oil change is more than sufficient...even if I've had a lot of 1/4 mile passes during the change interval. Absolutely necessary? No...but I wanna keep all my HP for a long time and I believe this will help do just that. I've got a simple write up with pics if you want me to post it. Just my .02 on catch cans.
who else would i get it from??? :moon: haha...its just a matter of wheeen im gonna get it...i think the next two things is the Strut tower brace and projector headlamps with HID's....
What?! I don't think it should be watery looking. Should look like oil. Should look like relatively clean oil (unless you got FI and then I suspect it might look a bit blacker).
Haha, I don't think she's in "the know" either Chris. Gave me a laugh even the 2nd time I've seen it....(from a different thread..honest). Isn't knock retard suspected to be linked to oil in the intake and it's effect on combustion. I pretty sure the LS1's also need one Oscar. I purchased mine from a site that caters to them as well. Elite.
In terms of the LS1, those that have excessive oil consumption at times install one. So far mine is free of this problem. Thanks for the info guys! Im starting to make a wish list for this year!
Yea I run one of these and niticed a huge difference in excess oil smike from my pipes. guess it is working.
I didn't think so but Ron you know I live in the Emissions-Crazy State known as California so I was just wondering if I'm gonna have to take it off to smog it. Probably will since they don't seem to even want you opening your own hood anymore, doh!!
