anyone know a shop that can do a quality header install for a reasonable price? i wanted kooks to do it, but they quoted 650 for the job.. that's a rip-off.
How far away from Erik (Hemi31) are you? He's upstate NY (wherever that is). PM him anyway. He does great work and is very reasonably priced from what I hear.

LOL, I had mine done for $350 and when it was all said and done, the owner said "don't tell your friends!" LOL, I felt bad. I knew they got screwed. I sold them my stock headers and cats for a very good price just to help make up the difference and I gave the mechanic $20 to purchase beer for mental anguish. :good: He taught the shop some new vocabulary words.. :shok: P.S., Don't forget the locking header bolts. It makes all the more fun.
Man, $450-$550?? You hooked that guy! The guys that have done the Jeep out here charge between $850-$1,200.
I had it done by my local mechanic who I trust with my cars. He took it slow, 9 hours, and I paid $500 for a job well done. He said everything went well except for 2 F***! locking bolts
Kooks headers installed by Kooks and anything goes wrong they will stand by it, you get what you pay for. While $650 is that great its not that bad either for a manufacturer install.
GSM has probably done more headers than anyone..except Kooks.....and yes they actually pull the heads. The other shop I have used charges $800. You might find a shop to do it one time for under $400.....but they wont ever do it again for that price.
