Well today I had to back my 300 out from infront of the garage... It hasn't been moved in like 4 days... Well after moving it I notice a puddle about the size of a cd.. My dad says he thinks it was closer to where the front of the car was, so he thinks its something to do with the power steering.. Im thinkn it was closer to the transmission... The car is an 06 with 33k on it no mods.. I will find out more tomorrow when I can get up under it.. I hope this isnt a bad sign, cause Ive only had the car for about 6 weeks... any guess as to what it might be, and what to look for????
06...hmmm.yep...welcome to the "needing your gasket replaced" club. Don't worry it has happened to a lot of us. Easy fix... dealers know about it.
There is an O Ring on a fitting (I forget which one)to the tranny that needs to replaced. There is a TSB on this, so it should be covered under warranty. It is a 10 minute fix.
Thanks for the input! def gonna get it checked out.. Keeping my fingers crossed... On the warranty... I didnt buy anymore warranty with the car, so does it have like a 3yr 36k on it or what?
Yes, you have a 3yr/36k mile warranty. By the way Drew, TSB's are NOT covered after your warranty period is up.
it could be PS or the O ring leak... I had both...lol my power steering felt like a truck one day and sure enough puddle int he driveway lol.... either way its the same easy fix....replace the gasket/oring
I think it's TSB 21-002-05. (which says it's for 2005 300/Magnum/Jeep/Crossfire/Sprinter but it's actually for the trans) Practically every NAG1 transmission does this. Why haven't they fixed it in manufacturing? Best guess is that there are years worth of NAG1s in the pipeline. it's a 15 minute fix (.4 hr billable).
well i just got back from Chrysler... No warranty left, ended in FEB.. So the total was $130.. But all is good now. And you all were right it was the o-ring on the harness.. Thank you guys so much for the help and peice of mind! But one thing i did notice while it was on the lift.. Guess im gonna have to invest in some tires.. hahahaha when does it ever end???? lol!
Isn't it just the model of transmission, and not vehicle specific? I mean, not outside of SRT's, but not limited to one SRT
listen to this woman. chrysler, in all their infinite wisdom didnt give us the ability to add tranny fluid ourselves. thanks guys.
