I have had my JBA exhaust on my SRT for almost 5 months now(what a POS system it is) and the smell of exhaust fumes is getting worse in the car. Today I went for a spirited jaunt on one of my local freeways here in town and the smell of exhaust fumes just got horrid. it only really smells when there is a load on the motor, or close to WOT for a period of time, but today was the worst incident by far. Actually smelled like something was burning, but when I checked nothing was melted. I have a band clamp on the mid pipe to cat-back joint because the clamps from JBA suck. Is there anything short of welding the whole system up that I can do?? Probably s**t the system and get a more quality system, but I need a fix for right now. BTW I never had this smell with the factory Cat-back, only after I replaced it. Thanks all....
Exhaust leak? Especially if you can smell it in the car at speed. Does it sound different, like congested or angry? I had this happen with my zoomers when I just had the clamps on them. Didn't notice a smell though, but it was in the winter.
I've never had a problem with my JBA system. It definitely sounds like you have a leak. It shouldn't be a problem to have fixed. Run it by an exhaust shop.
Thats the conclusion I came up with. I am going to replace the JBA set-up I have and fully weld my new Cat-back up. Kinda leaning twards Magnaflow or Bassani or just have and exhaust shop create me a 1 off.......
So what's wrong with Corsa? I have yet to hear a single complaint on the Mopar/Corsa. (Well, maybe the visible resonators).
Just have them weldit, I have a JBA and love it. Doesn't matter what system you buy a leak is leak. Even if you buy the most expensive exhuast it'll smell the same if it leaks somewhere.
