Here's what a visit to my dad's house and drinking beer all day will get ya. It actually turned out ok with no horribly crooked milling...lol

It would be neat to put a light on each coil pack that lit when the cylinder fired...would look cool at idle I bet.

Thanks guys! I will say I honestly gave this about 3.67 seconds of thought before we were C-clamping it down in between beers. I have never been a huge fan of our half covers and even less now that I have a 7.0L motor so if I screwed them up they were going in the large round file anyway. AFAIK no one has made replicas that say "7.0L" yet.

    LOL Chris!

I was just looking at that. There are others out there also...if I was going to do anything it would be to find a set that were identical to stock but said 7.0L in the same lifted font.

    Jon,

I had my painter shave the 6.1L down, then he painted the 6.3L. You are more than welcome to my old half covers if you want them?

    Just pay for shipping.

Man, that is so nice of you to offer dude! I actually have another set that I have been toying with...filling in the 6.1L from the back. The lettering is just so goofy that it is hard to recreate.

But thanks for sure for offering Ron!

Well, they are a coil pack on two plugs :) Sorry but electrical isn't my forte' :) A timing light works on older vehicles with plug wires so that was the initial direction I was going to go...obviously the electrical impulse down the wire sets off the light to go off...that technology must be out there in other forms???

Yes you would probably just use a hall sensor or maybe another type of magnetic pick up.

Lemme find some of the voltages and currents we are dealing with and come up with a circuit.
