Seeing how the same cam was used for all the heads... I believe the numbers are going to be relatively close, very close.

Thanks man... No doubt! I think I'll start hanging around here for a while...

Btw, I retract my last (above) post. I finally read the entire thread and just realized the issues with the valve train components and all. Obviously this will make a performance difference... :dumb:

I wonder if the REV valves are less expensive than say the Manley valves? If truely they were/are used to save a buck... it's the same old story fellas. In the end it just doesn't pay to fight over a nickel...

    Sorry I just couldn't resist.

:tip: Big props to Trojan and HOP for all their time and effort here... pretty cool guys!

You can get manley to make you a custom set. REV is the only manufacturer of larger valves for these motors, so it isnt a cost issue, its an availability issue. I have talked with Ferrera, Superflo, and manley and they all say they will be making them but they dont currently have them.

    Okay... that explains it then.

IMO... I think the "bigger" valve or "big chamber" valves may simply be a bunch of hype. I don't know, but unless your running 7,000 - 8,000 rpm the benefits in running these setups probably isn't much. Definately not enough to warrant a potential serious issue.

Has anyone ever dyno'd the exact same set of heads with some stock size stainless steel valve(s) and then the hyped out bigger valve(s) to view the difference if any?

Actually, Manley contracts their valves to the lowest bidder. Doesn't matter which third world country they're from, they buy price over quality.

At least REV and Ferrea have their own manufacturing facility which they have control over.

Everyone went under the knife and we have concluded the results. A more informative and detailed report will be posted very shortly with graph's showing flow numbers, and graphs showing gains in rwhp and trq.

    The results

    1) PPP

    2) HHP

    3)Mopar Racing

    4) PR&D

Rev valves had problems, Quality control seems to be a issue with cylinder heads IMO.

As far as quality control goes, there is no way for us to know if the valves we are using have the proper heat treatment applied to them or not. There was absolutely no way for us to prevent this from happening unless we put every valve on a spintron before we assemble the engine, so I dont really consider this a quality control factor on our behalf, but definitely something a valve manufacturer should be able to check in batches before shipping and/or receiving.

So if the PPP heads had damge how are you putting them up first?Sorry Andy but I don't understand the reasoning here.Did you get a new set of PPP heads to test we don't know about?

Did the HHP and Mopar heads have any tuning done?
