I have a crack on my windshield roughly 8" long thanks to a flying rock from a semi. Any idea on how much I should expect to pay for a replacement? FWIW, I do have full coverage insurance so I know I should be able to offset the cost, just trying to figure out if it's worth avoiding a claim altogether (thanks to my teenage daughter, I've had 3 claims in the last 30 months...).
Good question... Ours are pretty big but only medium curved. I'm going to take a wild guess at something between $500 and $800 installed. I'd be leaning more towards $700?
I've priced it before and it is about $200 - $250 installed. I had a curved lexan window custom made and that cost me $550 plus shipping.
Wow, that's outstanding! I guess I'm still geared to my T-bird... monster sized windshield. Side glass cost over $100 just for the part. At that price it's going to be worth it to replace as soon as it gets a bit of hazing from abrasion.
I'm trying to get a vendor to buy a bunch (at least 6) and the price will drop 20%. I'm new to lexan but know it has its bad aspects so I'm ready for the worst. I should be getting mine any day now. Factory thickness, curvature, size and black surround but 15 lbs lighter.
