On the way to work today, I stopped at a gas station, went to leave, and couldn't get the car in gear. When I tried putting it in 1st, it would sound like a grinding/wine noise (does it if I try to put it in any gear). So I shut the car off, put it in gear, shifts threw the gears with no issue. Put it in 1st, started the car, got that grinding/wine noise and just felt weird. Noise goes away when I hit the gas or actually moving, I'm able to shift, a lil notchy, but does shift, get that noise a lil' bit. Only time I can't get it into gear/gears is when I'm at a dead stop, grinds/wines, and I have to shut the car off just to get in gear when at idle.

Clutch has 3661 miles on it. ACT 6-puck sprung, new release fork, and TOB. Chatters, and squeaks pretty loud sometimes...told it was normal, and haven't paid mind to it anymore. Clutch hasn't acted up, till now though...any ideas?

Haven't checked for fluid yet, or adj the pedal yet...I'm at work, and can't do that till later in the day. I have no complaints with the clutch...maybe lil kwirks, but shit's been awsome.

    Juan

    *** UPDATE AS OF 02-11-09 ***

I dropped my tranny today...and this is what I found. The reason behind my squeak, and the reason why I couldn't get the car into any gear.

My first thought is the slave cylinder.

Second thought is clutch itself....IIRC, alot of people have had issues with the ACT,

I doubt its the tranny fluid. I was running on next to nothing in the tranny for a year and never knew it....it still worked fine.

Synchronizer? (they still got those right?) When you're stopped and try to put it in gear does it sort of "wind up" as you press on the shifter (do not push if it grinds)?

synchronizer? if i'm at a dead stop and push the clutch pedal in, and try to put it in any gear it sounds like a grinding/wine noise. doesn't get progressively louder though.

Hmmm, I'd stick with Master. He probably knows what he's talking about.

I had a friend in CT who had similar symptoms and it turned out to be the slave cylinder. Good thing he got to it in time. I can't say for sure that is what it is on your car but you get what I'm saying

adj the pedal, didn't work...going to order the slave cylinder from NAPA, $70.99, but have to order it, so 3 days down for the SRT. Dodge wants over $100, and last time I ordered a part from Dodge, they got the wrong part, and took them a week to get the right one....

Easy, remove wheel. Take cotter pin off the center nut on the axle, loosen and take off the axle nut. Now decide which bolts/nuts you want to take off so you can take the axle off the center wheel hub. I've seen it done a few different ways. After that remove axle from intermediate shaft. Remove intermediate shaft and there you go access to the seal.

Pop it off with a flat head (it is 2 pieces). When placing a new one back on, place it and tap it lightly evenly until seated flush. Then put everything back together.
