OK, just out of curiosity and because I don't know the answer...

I have zoomers catbacks... would adding a set of glasspacks make my car louder? *what is the function of a glasspack anyway (isn't it a resonator?)?

zoomers are glasspacks. thats why they make that "special" zoomers sound. lol.

if you want louder, get some headers or cutouts.

its used as a Regonator and muffler

back in the day Cherry bombs were used as mufflers
to help take down the high frequency part of the exhaust

there are other types of Cherry bomb mufflers

I wouldn't think it would be much louder, if Zoomers is a straight through design. Most glasspacks are relatively straight through w/glass "packing". (no not fudge) They are mufflers, I've never heard of them being considered resonators. They may snap/crackle/pop more than Zoomers when you let off (I don't know if Zoomers do?).

I had Cherry Bombs on a couple of my cars back in the 70s.....just a straight threw muffler with fiberglass packing...back then anyway...Jason if you add them to what you have they will have a quieting affect...I had read a thread somewhere where a person had installed them by themselves and said they were loud as heck..

    No shit?!?!

I do love that snap/crackle/pop sound... I haven't had my car for about a month now, so I don't quite remember the exact exhaust notes...

***Thanks all for responding... I just remember "Cherrybomb" as a name from long ago and they peaked my curiosity***

haha, yeah dude. they re-package it and double the price...they voila!!! zoomers is born!!! i wont fault them much, its a nice look, just not a true exhaust. we have glasspacks on an old 1968 jag vert, makes it sound like a muscle car.

    Exactly.

Jason, how old are you? I know you weren't driving then but where were you in the late 60's and 70's? You should have been old enough to know about Cherry Bomb mufflers... That was the thing then. As close as you could get to a straight through exhaust and still have a legal muffler on there. Usually they turned into a straight through exhaust fairly quickly as the fiberglass packing would compress and then eventually just blow out of there completely. Maybe they've upscaled them over the years.

You don't have money for, "SHIT"! Why do you ask these stupid ass questions? Next Might Noid is going to have to pickup some crap at the train station and run it over to VORTECH, so John can install, yet another POS on your car.

I'm 35, but a few friends of the family had Cherrybombs on a Chevelle and a Charger.

Go get your shoe shine box!
