OK this isn't the greatest vid but it's ben bugging the hell out of me. I thought the neon was faster!! according to this vid the neon got spanked!! not even colse what do you guys think? Is this the case the caliber really that much faster? O and in the text on the streetfire it said the caliber had an intake and the neon had different exhaust.

I can't see the video for some reason.

But, if the Caliber only had an intake and the neon only had an exhaust, then it's no surprise the Caliber won.

They come from the factory with something like 60 more HP then the neon did.

I know that but i thought i read that the power to weight ratio was horrible. IDK i just hadnt heard much. If the link dosn't work, go to streetfire.net and click on videos and then dodge on the left side and that video is on the front page.

The power to weight isn't bad at all. In fact, it's better then the neon's.....

    ---Caliber---
    Curb weight: 3200
    Power: 300
    Power to weight: 10.6

    ---Neon---
    Curb weight: 2900
    Power: 230
    Power to weight: 12.6

My car will beat a caliber SRT, but not by a whole lot.....

    ---My neon---
    Curb weight: 2900
Power: 311 (on race gas...280 on pump)
Power to weight: 9.3 (10.3 pump)

Throw in maybe a Charger SRT-8

    ---Charger SRT---
    Curb weight: 4120
    Power: 425
    Power to weight: 9.6

that clears that up. Did you see the race? its not even close! and I the neons were rated at 230 but throw it on the dyno and its closer to 250 or atleast I have heard that. Im sure that's prolly the case for the caliber though too.

caliber should have been made AWD i would have to buy one then!

Well...almost. The neons were rated at 215 for 2003 and 230 for 04/05. Thats "crank" HP, however, on the dyno, all three years put roughly 230 to the ground, which means it was closer to 250 crank.

The caliber look is what deters me. Even if it was AWD, the fact that it's on the bandwagon with the Mazda 3 or now the WRX...meh....
