Just when I was coming home from my daughter's birthday party, my car decided to have a mini-tantrum. The air vent on the dash on the far right by the door, the one with the SRT-8 badge on it, just popped out in my husband's lap after I hit a minor (MINOR) bump. Apparently one of the tabs was worn off or broke off and so the whole thing just falls out whenever I accelerate...yay...

    well that sucks.

Guess this is a good time to get a BT Vent ring? lol

I would think that that would be covered under warranty?

Alright, finally, after three months, I got this one thing fixed. Apparently the tabs on the stock face plate just snapped like stale graham crackers. I snapped off more trying to remove the thing off the assembly. Luckily, a fellow CenCalLXer, Art had a spare faceplate from his Plum Crazy SRT from when they replaced it with his numbered plate. Snapped it on and put it back in the dash, good as new! :dance4:

Also, I feel like a dope for not realizing until just now that the faceplate and other parts of the dash have a sort of carbon fibery texture to them. Duh!

I'm wondering if it was cheap plastic that got weakened because of the temp differences and all the bumpy/herky-jerky driving. Was really a bummer when it just flew out of the dash and into Marc's lap.

just be happy it did not happen while you had someone who was "american is junk" type........ when my vent on the dash popped out, i had a person in the seat that said domestic cars were built like shit, THEN the vent comes out...... lol

Well, Marc just looked at me like I was going to have a meltdown. More of an "oh shit!" moment. LOL! I was bummed, but I was hauling ass up 680 to get home from San Jose and I had Mom and Madeline in the backseat snoring.
