how do i adjust the tension on the serpentine belt???

Is your belt slipping Im not sure I do know 1/4" slack from the bottom of the exhaust cam gear that's right above the tensioner in the middle of the two should be
Tq to 40ft lbs.

 

The SRT-4 has a self-adjuster.

If your belt is too loose or squealing, get it checked out.

 

that mean that the tensioner could me messed up??? or do i only have to replace the belt?

 

cold be the tensioner. if you remove the belt and it's flopping around you'll need a new one lol

 

by any chance if i dont have that belt i can drive the car??so that way it makes it home at least

There's two belts.

One runs power steering and A/C. That one you could drive without.....with difficulty, but possible.

The other belt runs the Alternator. You can't drive (far) without that one.
