Recent "evidence" is strongly pointing to the 6.1L returning for the 2010 model year... from what I see the 6.1L is currently listed as "standard" equipment on the 2010 300, Charger, Challenger, Grand Cherokee. This information *could* change, and it doesn't necessarily rule out any "hp bumps" or special models with a different engine. Hope to 100% confirm soon...
LMAO. If you guys were still thinking the 6.4Lwould show up in a street car, I've already got all the evidence in the world that isn't happening. At least not in 2010 it isn't. Gimme a break. 6.1L is what you're getting. 100% positive.
I received internal documents a couple years back that clearly showed the 6.4L as scheduled for the 300C, Charger, Challenger, Jeep, and one other model that was dropped. The engine was described as "6.4L SRT8 Hemi engine" so it was a production version and not referring to the 392 crate motor. I even have the assigned inventory numbers. What wasn't clear was the exact model year for the release. I checked today and the 6.4L is still listed in the system, I believe it is now planned for the 2011 model year. The 300, Charger and Jeep will be starting all-new generations at that time so it would make sense to hold off until then.
Now see, this is why I love you RS. haha Full of great information AND you put Matt in his place. woo hoo. lmao
LOL. Not!!!!!!! I have information from the other side, that not only shows they're not putting the 6.4L in the street cars, but WHY they're not doing it. But - I have always been a fan of Resumespeed and his info. No disrespect intended.
The more information the better!! My sources are usually incredibly reliable, but that doesn't mean the info is always dead on. Besides, things change quite often in this industry which can make it hard to make dead accurate "predictions". Can you elaborate further as to the info from the "other side", and the "reason" they are not going to use the 6.4L? Again, plans may have changed, especially with Cerberus taking over, but this engine was at one time for 100% certain on the production schedules for the models I listed. P.S. I sure hope I did not come across as trying to put anyone "in their place", I was only looking to point out the evidence on my end per the 6.4, which is supported by internal documents.
