A friend of mine emailed me this, I thought I would share it. The 2010 Dodge Charger: 'Current Rumors' The 2010 Dodge Charger (it may actually be a 2011 model) will be made in Brampton alongside the 300C and possibly the Challenger or 200C. It is possible that the 300 will be on a longer wheelbase than the Charger. Aerodynamics. The Charger will be less boxy, to improve noise and gas mileage; Styling now reports to Engineering’s Frank Klegon, and aerodynamics has taken a more advanced position. Fuel efficiency. As with the police cars, expect modified axle ratios, made more practical by the greater power from the V6 and V8 alike. Yet, all-around performance is to go up; the revised V6 and the 2009 Hemi changes will make this possible. Phoenix V6 engine. The 3.6 liter is supposed to provide 280 hp with better mileage than the current 250 hp 3.5 liter — more quietly than the Toyota V6. More gears in the transmission: an eight-speed is being studied, but one source has the five-speeds continuing. Better interiors. The next generation will set a new standard. Comfort features. New entertainment systems and driver comfort options will appear - no surprises there. SRT-8s were expected to eventually use a production version of the 392 (6.4) Hemi with about 450-475 hp and MDS for better gas mileage. This appears to be in the works but everything is uncertain now. The LY was to be used as the basis for three Mercedes classes: E, CLS, and R (starting in 2010-2012). We don’t know that status of that deal. The next generation Charger is expected to merge the styling of the current version with a more classic look from the famous 1968 Chargers, one of the most stylish vehicles ever built. We expect that most of the “look†will be based on the current Charger rather than the 1968s. The official image shows a faux-Coke-bottle side view, with integrated front tail-light but separate rear tail-light. Note that it will be more different from the 300C; and that the following illustration is not based on rumors or speculation or personal knowledge. The Challenger convertible is on indefinite hold, and the status of the Challenger itself is unknown. “Dodgeguy1961†reported the following engine list; the diesel may or may not be sold in North America. • 3.0 liter Phoenix V6 (possibly for export) • 3.0 liter Mercedes turbodiesel V6 — same as current version • 3.6 liter Phoenix V6 — we’d guess around 280 hp • 5.7 liter Hemi MDS/VCT — we’d guess around 340-380 hp • 6.4 liter Hemi (SRT) — we’d guess around 440-470 hp The SRT version, at 6.1 liters, produced 425 net horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque through 2008: • 425 bhp (318 kW) @ 6000 rpm, (69.8 bhp/L) • 420 lb.-ft. (569 N•m) @ 4800 rpm The 6.4 liter version, at a historic 392 cubic inches, was due in 2010 (we’re not sure if that will still happen), does the SRT-8 one better, and we'd like to know how since the extra size isn't all that much. It generates a full 505 horsepower. Because it’s a crate engine for racing only, some sacrifices made for longevity, gas mileage, and emissions reduction in the SRT-8 version (6.1 liters, created in mid-2005, and not using multiple diplacement) have been removed. This is a race-only engine, and is not legal or practical for street use. The actual SRT-8 engine expected for 2009 models may hit the mid-400s in horsepower. Transmissions appear to be up in the air.
I agree, it just does not reach out and grab me!!! Almost looks like the artist had about three different cars in mind and made it one.
Thank you Mains....thats kinda what I was thinking lol.... looks like they had a 8 year old draw it lol
I think it looks mean, low, and love the heavy side vents and hood bulge. It's a great improvement from the current model imo. True to the classic
ShhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhIT! that thing looks like some 'frankencar' from Mad Max Oh yeah, and i'll assume this "car" is going to be driving on astro turf? because those wheels is gonna get FARKED UP the minute you roll off the dealer lot!!!!
Looks like an old school Charger and the new Challenger had a few drinks went home and 9 months later this abortion came out.
IDK...that concept makes no sense. I don't think you would ever see a charger like that. I don't see Dodge making the Charger a 2 door...I mean that is why they have the Challenger. I don't think the artist of that has any idea what Dodge plans for the Charger, IMO.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.... Why the hell would they even put a picture in there that has nothing to do with the car??? :dumb:
They already have the Challenger as a 2 DR, I can't see them wanting to take sales away from it. I'm not digging it either.
i beleive it when i see it. 6.4l aint gonna happen unless it gets 25mpg in the city 35mpg on the hwy.now for the 2door version.chrysler already has the challenger(hottes sports car on the road) dont see a 2 door charger in production.bottom line is chrysler is broke and they are watching their penney's.
