Went back to the track today, and got to learn the car VERY WELL. What it likes, what it doesnt like and so on. Tires were at 26PSI the whole day My First time slip of the day Then I revised my Driving a Bit More Then Figured out the sweet spot to launch my car The best trap of the day was 102.8MPH I will have video online, as soon as my friend hosts it up. Gabriel
wow very nice run, specially for the altitude. can't wait to see videos posted up. i believe i have seen your car on jefferson one day, unless there is another black CSRT in the ABQ area. i was in a white nsrt4.
yeah, i HATE that traffic on jefferson. i live over on the west side, and it takes me much longer to go the mile north on jefferson from my work than it takes to go the 5.5 miles west on paseo home. i wanna see your car up close sometime soon. the only caliber srt i have seen up close was when they released the first few about 8 months back when i lived in detroit.
yeah for sure boss. Anytime, just PM me and we will set up a photo meet for the cars or something Gabriel
the elevation up here is about 5000+ feet, so the 1/4 mile times are much affected from being at this elevation. 14.22 for a stock CSRT up here is pretty impressive in my book for sure. that would be like 13.5-13.8 or so at sea level i think. EDIT: according to the NHRA correction table his BEST run (if run at 5000feet) compared to what it would have been at sea level would calculate out to a: 13.338 sec 1/4 mile with a trap speed of 108.50. thats pretty damn good for a small minivan.
the track sits at 5500'. Yesterdays DA was close to 7000'... Rule of thumb, 5500' and we lose near a full second. Gabe, when did you get to the track? We were there from 1:30 - 3:30.
I was there from 11:15am to about 1:15pm. I barely missed you it seems. According to some the DA was actually around 8300ft. Everyone is complaining about their times and trap speeds being off. I will go back to the Track when I get the new exhaust and ECU Reflash (whenever that is available) and try again. This time to break into the 13s. After that, time for me to get some smaller 18s for the front and put a big meatier tire under the car, and see what she does! Gabriel
yeah, i thought it was pretty much a full second, and according to the NHRA correction factors, not including the DA, for 5500$ is: 13.24 @ 109.22. i am still looking for a formula that will factor in density altitude.
In all reality, whenever I see Correction Calculators, If used, and it shows a 13.38 or whatever, I would add half a second for a turbo car, just to be more realistic, and deduct an average of around 4mph. I believe this car could run a 13.8 up here and trap 104 if the conditions are ideal. But bench racing for me doesnt really do anything, I would rather go out and just do it. I may go out sometime and try to better my time and all as the car stands now, but for right now, i have a slow 14sec car. Hey Ron, we need an SRT/C track day meet! Gabriel
