    r1 rusts like hell from all the reviews ive read. you dont really have to worry about that in SD though.

    That's funny their web page talks about some type of special rust free something or other. I'll look it up and get back at you with that.:hmm:

    i never said SHIT about an i-charger only that it was in the price range. the porsche i decided against cuz its slow as balls. if ANYTHING ive been back and forth on a 426 but its probly a no-go now. have you lowered your car yet? have you gotten your 22's on yet? ANSWER ME FUCKFACE!

    22's have never been an option. I like my stock rims.

    To date, I've:

    Painted the roof black
    Painted the tail lights black
    Painted the rear wing black
    Painted the grill flat black to match the rest of the car
    Powder Coated the exhaust tips black
    Powder Coated the intake manifold black
    Installed the iPod cable
    Bought some more BT stuff
    Bought the Predator, but haven't installed it

    Within the next 3-6 months I will:

    Get Coil Overs
    Hotchkis Sway Bars
    High Flow Cats
    (Not sure on the Cutouts)

    Wait a minute! I've heard from a old wrinkled bird that the drilled rotors crack! Under normal driving conditions or race only conditions? I will call R1Concepts tomorrow and find out what type of warranty if any they give, but still looking for someone that has these on their ride. :mellow:

    drilled arent at all what theyre hyped to be. slotted is the way to stay my friend.

    Okay Stevey,

    R1 states their rotors are Black E-Coated, applied to the hub and inner vents. Electro-Statically applied for rust protection. Now, don't ask me what the hell that means aside from attempting to prevent rust.

    I like the look of the drilled. I'm not sure what hype is thrown in with them. I'm not a track/road coarse guy, so don't know aside from the looks what I will gain/lose with these.

    dude its stevie goddamnit. lol

    thats cool man, i was just relaying what ive read about the company. electrostatic is done prob because just dipping them in the product wouldnt get into every nook and cranny like you would want. drilled rotors actually weaken the rotor. if you dont race at all, i wouldnt be worried about it, though you are trying to stop a 2 ton beast.

    i got my rotors powdercoated just to make sure they look great. The others I know that are running R1's haven't said anything about them rusting though. just buy the damn things

    It's STEVEY for those that live in RAIDER COUNTRY, but aren't Raider fans! I can't believe they still have the balls to put Com2Excellence on their product! That is a BULLCHIT if I've ever seen it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I've had R1's on my Jeep SRT8 for 5K miles and have been very pleased. They are coated so there is no rust. From what I understand for the Jeep anyway, is that the R1 rotors are stockers that have been treated, slotted, drilled & coated. I like the bling factor and will spend a couple of days at a road course in late May and I can determine then how they will work under heavy load. I have EBC RedStuff pads. The combo will stop the brick in a hurry.

    What? that blurb from a drilled rotor vendor? Yes, it's all true but it may not amount to anything significant. Saved weight: just how much do you think those little holes weigh? If you were running a <2000 lb. full race car then the unsprung weight savings would be significant. 4400 lb. car, maybe not so much. Braking: well, if the solid rotors really made a difference then adding the slots would certainly take care of it. Braking in heavy rain? maybe an advantage but when was the last time you raced in heavy rain?

    IF you're actually going to be using your brakes like you would by tracking it then there is the downside of them developing cracks around the holes. Those guys using drilled rotors on their race cars are swapping them out how often? Every couple of races?

    If you're going to be driving it on the street then they will be just fine. If you actually manage to get cracks in them you'll almost certainly discover it when changing pads long before a catastrophic failure. If you're getting them for the bling then they're well worth it but don't try to convince yourself that you're buying any measurable performance or handling gains.

    I don't think "ANYONE" can prove +/- on these right now! It seems nobody has them on our cars, much less did any testing with these rotors on our cars. I would agree you shouldn't convince yourself of any losses or gains regarding performance or handling............IMO:boxing:
