dave - i am assuming you are talking about squeezing a 295 onto a stock rim???? i would have to measure the contact patch of my nieghbors car (he has 275 front/295 rear on stock rims)..... i do believe you are correct though!!

Seriously, I was admiring the nice blue hue of my 5-minute-before install of 8000k headlamp bulbs (which was the reason for my foray). Drove over a transition lip on an off-ramp in a little construction area.

Legshaker, I live in a completely inhospitable area of Wyoming. There is no life here. I keep waiting to see Les Stroud booking across my back yard toting a camera and nibbling on some lichen.

Chris, where does one get the 5mm spacers? Also, what's the widest tire I could fit under there, given that the car will be lowered at some point like yours (not Rick's... LMAO)?!?!

According to Tirerack, I can get a set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW (had these on the Mustang) in 245 front/295 rear at $221 and $273 respectively.

What other choices would I have in a 40 series tire?!?!

jason - i could see a 295 without cutting the plastic fender well, 305 / 315 with some cutting and clearanceing. as for spacers, bones ent. used to make them, but i heard that they dropped off the face of the earth. you can buy universal ones (what i have now) but would recommend getting some custome machined to fit right so as to eliminate the chance of any vibration in the rear.

as for tires, i struggled finding matching tires in a 245/45 and 295/40. i ended up with nitto 420's in a 245/45 and 285/40.

    ^^^^^^

This is the person I dealt with on the phone. I asked for 5mm spacers and it seemed to confuse her. She conferred with someone and came back saying these are what I needed. I asked if they made any bigger and she repeated that these were what I needed.
I ordered them as I wasn't planning on anything bigger than 295s on the rear anyway.
I do have tracking info on the spacers however and should get them tomorrow.
    Hope this helps.
